DON'T STOP BELIEVING BASS QUESTION

Postby PianoMan1986 » Sat Sep 01, 2007 6:49 am

During the "chorus" (Streetlight people, livin' just to find emotion, hidin' somewhere in the night...")

Does anyone know exactly (if not relatively close) to what the bass is playing here. I'm trying to figure it out for my bass player, but I can't pick out all of the notes. If anyone has an accurate TAB of this I'd greatly appreciate it.

Also, what tuning does Ross use? I've heard the mention that he uses BEAD possibly?

Thanks,

Nick

B-E-A-D is what I remember him using for the past few years. But I THINK it was standard tuning on the original. I could be wrong.

Can't help you on notes on DSB....sorry.

hey there ... the line you are looking for is (Play accending) B-C#-E-F#-A (Decending)G#-F#-E-C#

hey Liam, you are right about the string config , i have noticed the samething - the tuning is a normal - it seems that some where in the early 90's as far as i can see is that ross started to string his 4 string bass like a five string and threw out the G string ... the houston concert was a normal string config. In EVOLUTION i use a five string so i can cover all of the sound that ross has done. you will see if you ever do "when you love a women" you will need a low B to get the low D or you will have to drop D tune . Hope this helped.
