Great thread...Everyone seems to be talking about Fantasy by Aldo Nova, but he had some other great songs as well.

His 1985 Twitch album was really great; check out songs like "Tonite", "Heartless", and "If Looks Could Kill" on that album.

He made a comeback in 1990 with Blood on the Bricks. Here's the vid for the title track from that album.

Also, does anyone remember this obscure track?

LOL haven't heard that one in eons. I remember a poll years ago that had Darby Mills (Headpins), Lee Aaron and Alana Miles in the top 5 Canadian Female Rock vocalists. Can't remember who the other ones were.

Alana Miles

Didn't anyone listen to "Freestyle" music? It was mainly Puerto Rican influenced east coast 80's muic. Produced artists like Cynthi, Johnny O, Lisa Lisa and The Cult Jam (featuring Full Force), Debbie Deb, The Cover Girls, TKA, Stevie B, Nancy Martinez, Brenda K Starr and many, many others. I love that shit. Here are a few examples (man, I KNOW I'm gonna get blasted for these). :?

Speaking of Aldo Nova, capped this pic from an interview that Aldo joined Jon Bon Jovi on. I remember hearing they were great friends, but they look more like they were separated at birth.

Deb, I think you're lapsing back into the 70's there as was Seasons in Sun...could have sworn that was early 70's. You showing your age now?

I guess if it hasn't been posted Tommy's Girls with Guns was a commercial obscure hit back then. (If it hasn't already been posted)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25dSxa8-LdQ

I also posted this track a year or so ago, one I'd forgotten about...this was a hit in the States and must have climbed the charts in Australia.

This was rescued from obscurity by the Napolean Dynamite soundtrack....

The Promise - When In Rome

Also....I'm not sure if this is obscure...but it was a one-hit wonder....

You're preaching to the choir here, weatherman. I am a HUGE Aldo Nova fan. Aldo is the guitarist on the studio recording of Bon Jovi's "Runaway". Aldo plays every instrument and does all of the BG vox on his first album.

Yeah - the whole Max Q CD is pretty good. I'd never heard of it either until I started reading up about Michael shortly after he died. 10 years this year - hard to believe.
