SP interview by Ray Foley from Ireland.

I wonder how they got his phone number. Had to have been set up previously.

I have a hard time 'believing' this wasn't set up in advance. At the most, I can believe Perry might have gotten a surprise phone call from the DJ off air a day or two prior to this interview. I mean ireland isn't exactly in the same time zone as California, you know?

Still, good to hear his voice. He sounds thrilled with the attention he's getting again. Must be bittersweet though.

Just gimmie the number and it shall be done!

And yes, the interview was set up, but fun nevertheless. Pity the DJ couldn't shut up more...typical...

Steve Perry should be a fucking writer. He wrote so many good songs. He could write some good plots for movies and Pilots. He is so much smarter than Friga and Neal. I respect him more now than I ever did before.

I totally agree with that. I bet he could write some great stories.

Couldn't agree more. He's too creative not to be writing SOMEthing.

(He'd have to stop using all the double-negatives though -- or hire an editor... LOL!)

Very cool interview. :D

Man, he always sounds so horse these days. I fear that his singing days are truely over and this is why no new songs or recordings in so long. I wonder what happened ? Just age ? Did he start smoking or something !!

Youtube the "Strungout" video. He sounds "horse" there also, yet he belts that song out of the park.

Yes that is true I just checked and he does. Hmmm. Such a change from 82 to 84... I wonder if he damaged something in there. Herbie Herbert just stated that it changed. Nothing about damage... Will we ever know ? Why do I even care ? Got the old material to listen to...

And naturally the ever-present "I haven't been with the band since 1998..."

It's almost a drinking game. Every time SP says that ^ you have to do a shot.

Pffff.

I love it when he says that, too.

As if Journey was fully functioning with him in 1997 and part of '98 and 89 and 90 and 91, 2, 3, 4 and '95 too.

Finely had a few minutes to listen to it. Love hearing Steve's voice and hearing him laugh. Love what he said about speaking through the lawyers when it comes to talking to the band these days. Kind of puts the nails in the coffin of any reunion.
