Too many 19-year-old girls may seize an older guy up.

What a way to go.

Very sad indeed...my step-mother is an opera singer and performed "La Traviata", "Fidelio", and "Der Ring des Nibelungen" in Cologne and Salzburg. He was a tremendous man, very kind to me and the other children of his co-performers. One of the best tenors of all time, up there with Juan Diego Flórez, David Kuebler, and José Carreras.

i had the pleasure of seeing Pavarotti twice, and there is no way to explain a voice like his. in all honesty, it was amazing. even if opera wasn't your thing, his voice amazed everyone

if any of you have a chance, check out a song he's famous for performing called "Nessun Dorma" ....one of the most beautiful, haunting melodies ever, and his performance is always heart felt on this one...

Opera is definitely not my thing, but I could listen to him for hours. His voice gives me the chills.

I too have seen him live, twice. It was an amazing experience, even if opera's not your thing.

Many artists have done this song (even Schon on his Voice album) but Pavarotti's version is my favorite.

Speaking of voices, Dr. D. James Kennedy, pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, also passed away at the age of 76. He was one of the few TV preachers that I liked and never had a scandal that I'm aware of. Good guy.

just thought you may want to read what Brian May had to say....

LUCIANO PAVAROTTI RIP

I was very sad to hear this morning of the passing of Luciano Pavarotti. Luicano was so great at what he did that became a kind of icon ... a kind of international treasure, like the Tutankhamen statue, in many people's minds. It seemed like he had always been there, representing the pinnacle of classical singing, and would always be there. All who worked with him loved him, and benefited from the warm generous spririt he generated. I was lucky enough to play at two of his wonderful parties, in which he would sit and sing the whole night long, with various guests, and the whole thing was before an audience of ecstatic fans in Modena.

Well, not enough words. But deepest sympathies to his lovely wife and family, and once again, the world is a sadder place, for the loss of this gentle giant.

With love
Brian

Little did I know.....it would be my "Future Husband's" favorite song.

*EDIT*....just watched it and listened again....sitting here, crying....

....the 2nd to last note....HIGH....SUSTAINED!!!.....Good LORD!!!!!
