Well we've killed thousands upon thousands of them including Al-Zarqawi, and captured others and have thwarted other attacks across the world saving who knows how many lives. Does that count for anything?
Rick wrote:I support our troops 100%, I just don't support the reason we are in Iraq.

Our stated objective is to build a functional pro-US democracy in Iraq. That's what the troops are fighting for.
Rick wrote:Bush is getting our soldiers and Iraqi's killed over fucking oil. That's what the war is about and has always been about.

So Bush and the US raided the oil fields and stole all the crude? Is that why our gas prices have plummetted? I thought Bush lied about WMD's? He said nothing about Sadaam's numerous UN resolution violations? Throwing out weapons inspectors?
Rick wrote:His dad did the same thing. Went to war to protect nothing other than oil, that's the only reason they gave a shit that Iraq invaded Kuwait.

That's why Bush Sr. also took Iraq and Kuwait's oil and gave it to American oil companies
Rick wrote:There's all kinds of human strife and suffering in Africa and we don't do shit about that.

Yeah like millions dying of Malaria because of environmentalists opposition to the use of DDT which had it under control for years.
Rick wrote:Why? There is nothing in it for the U.S. How fucking sad is that?

Oh excuse anyone who wants the US military used to protect US interests instead of a meals on wheels program. Aren't you the one crying how you can't afford anything? What do you think would have happened if Bush Sr. had let Sadaam have Kuwait's oil and perhaps march on into Saudi Arabia? Gas prices would be way above what they are now. And we'd have to kiss Hugo Chavez ass because a certain party won't let us drill for our own oil.

Bush Sr. went into Kuwait for stability purposes. Stability equals smooth oil flow.

Jr. did lie about WMD. That's the only way he could get the war ok'd, and it was total bullshit. OIL

No amount of oil is worth our soldiers lives.

I do think we need to battle terrorists, but they need to go after Hussein, he's a 6'4" guy attached to a dialysis machine. Shouldn't be that hard to find. Wanna make a bet that he's brought in before Bush's term ends? Bush is the biggest liar the presidential office has ever suffered. His dad was another one. I haven't respected a Republican president that has been elected in my lifetime. Nixon was a liar, Reagan was ok except for the PATCO fiasco. That was bullshit. Then you have the Bush boys. I don't see how the Republican party continues to exist.

I can't keep a straight face here any more.

Iraq and Al Qeida had NOTHING to do with one another....until now. What our bold leader has done is to make them stronger.

Our soldiers have killed a few high value targets...Woofuckinhoo. How many of our fine men and women lives has that taken to accomplish? 3,000 plus. Again, Woofuckinhoo.

Andrew, you should be ashamed of that cocksucker John Howard. He supports our president for no other reason than to kiss our asses.

Read this in Newsweek Magazine the other night:

"Why is George W Bush planning a wedding while I am planning a funeral."- The mother of a young woman, a US Captain who was killed in Iraq.

We all know you think a high approval rating is everything. Clinton was a master at politics over fixing a problem. Dude polled on where he should go on vacation and whether the family should get a dog  Having our boys pull the trigger on Bin Laden would have hurt those #'s

I disagree. I think the president had to face a few facts that were probably quite disturbing. First, Al-Qaeda was hell bent on coming to America and killing civilians. Couple that with the fact that our borders have more holes than Randy Johnson's face and you have a problem. Next, the oil you speak of is vital to our economy. If we let these lamp rubbers cause the price of a gallon of gas to go $10 a gallon, our economy would be brought to its knees. Couple that with porous borders, a country that wanted to play shell games with the U.N., and the fact that Al Qaeda would face our military OFF of our soil and you have more than enough reason to fight there.

I get that, but if that's the case, then Bush needs to say that. Tell the country that we are being held hostage by an oil oligopoly and we're going over there to hand them their asses. People respect that kind of talk.

I think you meant Bin Laden, but good point. Truth is, Bin Laden will never be captured. He has orders to his closest guards to kill him and then commit suicide. Pick up this week's Newsweek. It is a chilling read...about 7 pages of how the Americans were so close to Bin Laden...He may have kidney problems. We will never see him captured alive.

If stability equals smooth oil flow. Then why would Bush cause instability in Iraq by getting rid of Hussein if he did it for oil?
You completely contradict yourself Rick
Rick wrote:Jr. did lie about WMD. That's the only way he could get the war ok'd, and it was total bullshit.

If that's true than the dozens of other politicians around the world also lied about WMD's. Are they all liars or were they all going off of the same intel?
Rick wrote:No amount of oil is worth our soldiers lives.

Was Iwo Jima worth our soldiers lives. A chunk of sulfur in the Pacific? 10's of thousands? How many were drafted and dragged off against their will?
Rick wrote:I do think we need to battle terrorists, but they need to go after Hussein, he's a 6'4" guy attached to a dialysis machine.

Where should we battle them? Here I suppose? Not a "neutral" battleground in Iraq. Remember, Afganistan didn't attack us either.

You do know that the Constitution bars Bush from running again right?
Rick wrote:Bush is the biggest liar the presidential office has ever suffered.

We'll see if Bush is impeached for lying under oath anytime soon

Yeah and the Dems are so upstanding. Granted they haven't had many presidents recently. But that Teddy Kennedy is an upstanding citizen huh? Speaking of that, why doesn't Mary Jo Kopechne have her own national holiday. If Kennedy hadn't left her to drown he'd have been president long ago?

LOL, I knew something like that was coming. You are right, both sides have their problems, and made good points.

One thing though, I know Bush can't run again, but my point was he'll catch Bin Laden to make his presidency look like a success. He'll mop up a bunch of other messes too.
