On this day in 1981, Journey's "Escape" hit #1.

Do you remember and what were you doing with your life then?

Umm... I was calmly enjoying not being born yet. Sigh, and my hair was so cheesy then too.

Was just out of high school and working at an arcade. Went to see the Escape concert on November 7th.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

My freshman year in college. I made friends with the girl who's still my best friend when we had our dorm room doors open and realized we both had the same Journey album playing. A group of us piled into an old van and went to the Escape concert that fall.

8 weeks from this date was my first visit to the pub (legally) and the rest of my life for there on in is a blur. If only we could turn back the time..eh!!

Pint of bitter 44p and you could drink all night and when I say all night I mean it - on £5 ($9) and still have money over for a curry and a pack of rubbers

Did you and your girl-friend by any chance experiment in college? I can't help but wonder what exactly happened. Please elaborate. Dirty minds want, err, need to know.

I was 5 years old, so I was probably playing with my Fisher Price Sesame Street house (my dog chewed up Big Bird! ) and whiling away the hours on my Sit N' Spin while my sisters radio introduced me to the sounds of Journey. :D

Ah 1981 (9th grade) :D , spending the night in front of Ticketron (that's who sold them at the time) to get the killer seats to Journey. Went to see Journey at the Forum - Loverboy opened the show. Saw them again in July at the Rose Bowl with Triumph, Blue Oyster Cult, and Aldo Nova, a big show with fireworks. AWESOME! Except during Aldo Nova the audience turned the show into the biggest food fight you have ever seen - it was nasty! I will never forget those shows.

Spending the night at Ticketron was a bust - the Rose Bowl show was GA!! Which is way too big of a place for GA in my opinion!! But we were lucky to score great seats anyway.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine and chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride!"

Well, there might have been some experimenting in the van, but probably not the kind you're hoping for. Oh hell, you've had a rough couple of months worrying about the twins and Lula - go ahead, imagine anything you want. Just let me know if I should apologize to Lula or say "you're welcome".
