you never know maybe a few heads have been deflated since then ...and maybe they'd like to see some former glory before they lay this beast to rest...imoamaron wrote:mikemarrs wrote:wouldn't it be in everyone best interest to try and right this sinking ship and save the band journey as we know it?
It didn't work in 1996 so why would it work now, especially with all that has gone on since then?
If Perry comes back, it's about the money in the name Journey, not the music and especially not the band.

doesn't all parties invloved have an emotional and financial stake in this thing?
for the fans sake i would also like to see the stone returned to its former glory.
one more time so........
save the name don't crack the stone.....

Nowadays, they have chipped away and recut it so many times that this stone named Journey is so small and insignificant that it doesn't matter what they do. It will now just be another grain of sand which does not stand out among the other grains of sand they are surrounded by.

And, he said the same type of things back in 1995.

And there is an immense difference between the situation in 1995 and now.

Yes, there is. Perry has his life in order, seems genuinely happy for the first time in his life and has seemingly harnessed whatever vices he may have had in the past. Seems like no better time than now for a final tour and the proper closure this band needs. NO ONE says he has to like Jon and Neal. Get a separate tour bus, do 30-40 shows, and ride off into the sunset.

Don't think he will just because the whole hip thing.
He toured with the White Sox with the hip thing
He's just fineMy father had his hip replaced and though he healed well, he never
walked the same again.
Eddie Van halen had his hip replaced and he's touring just fine.,Couldn't see Perry making his rounds on stage after having that surgery.

So what you're basically saying is this: Journey is now a beach![]()

KidKnowHow wrote:I will tell you this from a very close personal experience, I know SP and know him well, from time to time I browse forums here and there and have never taken the time to post for several reasons:
1. No way to prove who I am and how I know SP
2. Crazy People who won't let go
3. I've been asked to refrain from doing so
So, why am I post here? Simple, I have permission for just one post and one post only.
But it blows me away that people can't even take the the actual words of Steve Perry himself. What more does he have to do? He has said on several occasions that he is not going to rejoin Journey and it has even been quoted here on this very post. He does not have contact with the band except through attorneys. Repeated efforts by radio deejays and fans to get him to say anything other than that falls on deaf ears and broken hearts.
Steve Perry is a very very private man and is currently enjoying his life out of the limelight and tries to keep in contact with his fans through the only place where he gives messages, FAN ASYLUM.
I truly understand why people want him back, I was a huge fan of his music when I got introduced to him through a mutual friend. I actually did not believe my friend knew him and on a trip to San Diego he called Steve Perry up and got us a invite to come and meet him for dinner. Over the past fifteen years, he and I have become friends and while it thrills him to know he has such a loyal fan base it also can be very scary at times.
He has asked all of you to respect his privacy over the years and to allow him to live his life as it is now. So, why not take the words of the man himself when he speaks to you?
The Stone is Cracked and no amount of super glue will put it back together.
