Who the fuck actually checks internet usage of employees? What a waste of time!
If someone does a good job....they should stay...if they don't...they should get fired.

in all sincerity man,, the I.T.'s at your job know your not a porn surfer,, everytime you get on the web you leave a cookie and a temp internet file.. IF you were searching porn , you would have 100' -1000's of these,, you dont !!! you have 1 each time .. .. these I.T.'s are just scanning the server for the words "sex".."girl" ..ect.. . its a red flag if it comes up,,
..so everyday,, delete your temporary internet files and cookies,, unless its password protected,,
You are very naive if you think that's going to help. I am sure these things can be tracked at a server level.
I'm also suprise that this hasn't happened sooner to somebody...or, maybe it has. I would never browse this forum, or most others, from my office PC.

Exactly.
My bullshit-0-meter is twitching off the charts.

They're looking at and for security breaches.
The post, however, is another designed to guilt Andrew and St John.
jrnychick wrote:I'm sorry you've had that label put on you, Fyre. I own my own company, so I'm not planning to fire myself. However, my PC was running VERY slowly a few weeks ago, and I went in and deleted a bunch of porn that was linked through this site and other non-porn sites I frequent. It seems, however, that once you have the "bug" in your system, it is very difficult to completely get rid of it. I get probably 20 emails a day for Viagra and Cialis. If anyone knows how I can get rid of this stuff completely, let me know!
When I was working for someone else, I NEVER went on websites for personal interests on a work computer. I was an elementary school teacher, so anything that was connected to porn in any way would have been very bad. I never had time to surf the net at work back then anyways! When I was working for another company, I was in cubicle land. My boss was a jerk and she would have had a heart attack if she caught me visiting personal-interest web sites on a work computer.

This tomfoolery is an all-time low, though.
well thats true but if there not done at work...well then we are going to a different subject then aren't we?I thought this was about surfing at work instead of actually working..I guess surfing should be left to your own time and computer not on someone elses dime!Wheels Of Fyre wrote:wildone wrote:awww but time spent there could've been used to do more work...Wheels Of Fyre wrote:wildone wrote:Maybe it's just me ...but at work ...shouldn't you be working and not surfing???
You're absolutely right. But as I said I never let surfing get in the way of me getting the job done.
Right once again. You're on a major roll.
That's an obvious, easy, and logical argument. I'm sure you could even find a "habit" or two that you do regularly that could be cut.
Why don't you be honest and tell us about them?

That's your opinion. And your opinion is wrong. But you're free to believe whatever you want. It's too bad that you let yourself get in the way of the truth though.

Or Just stay off the internet and get your ass back to work!!!LMAO sorry just had to...fredinator wrote:Then that is a real shame. Maybe you can rebut it somehow in your personnel file--others would surely understand the situation. Time will heal it.

Nope. Both my message forum and Dream Project were created at home.
For me I work so intensely that I often need to "look away" from what I'm doing. Flipping over to check out this site and other forums gives me a moment to actually think through certain work things - as ridiculous as that sounds. Heck, I've resolved work-related stuff while in the shower or sitting on the toilet at home - MANY times. I've even resolved stuff while grocery shopping or just walking with our kids in the park. That's just how my mind works.
The way it's perceived is that I'm a goof-off porn surfer and that couldn't be further from the truth.

If you think that would make SJ feel bad, then you don't know SJ.
