OMG!  I used to love watching H R PufnStuf...I haven't seen that since I was a kid. You're right the creator must've been at Woodstock...did you hear PufnStuf say, "don't nobody touch them mushrooms!" :D They sure had a long opening song, too - practically longer than the show.

And, yes I definitely remember the Coke commercial...in fact, I have a little story. In 6th grade my best friend wanted to join chorus & wanted me to join to. "NO!", I said. I did not sing & didn't want to. She convinced me to come to the audition with her & just try because "it will be fun to be in it together". So, I went & reluctantly sang the required audition song, "Born Free" (I thought pretty badly esp. with that high part) & lo and behold I made it & she didn't! I ended up staying in chorus & we sang, "I want to teach the world to sing" to the public. My one & only time doing anything extracuricular.

This song was always on the juke box at the pizza parlor...."Hair" by the Cowsills (this was the least hairiest video I could find - couldn't find an original clip)...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=mYGP3CIT4r4

BTW, in looking that up I just learned that The Cowsills sang the theme song for "Love American Style"...huh.

For a while they were running those old shows on the local cable channel here in Orange County. I was thinking oh how cool to see the old shows I used to watch again... HR Puf N Stuf, Lidsville, Sigmond the Sea Monster, Land of the Lost. But then it was like  that's what I used to watch!!! They were actually pretty weird looking back  Did you ever watch those others like Lidsville with witchie poo?

Sure do! But, never knew the singer's name was Question Mark! :D The organ figured prominently in a lot of this music during this era...like this one:

WitchiePoo was the best part of the shows - hilarious! I still remember that song she sang, "Oranges Poranges...who cares" (now I have to look that up - my youngest is getting a kick out of these old clips). And, know I understand the title H.R. PufnStuff = puffing stuff. :D

I never realized it before, but you're probably right about the title :P ! Does anyone remember watching Danger Island featuring a very young and cute Jan Michael Vincent (before the booze & pills got the best of him) or Electra Woman and Dyna Girl? I think Deidra Hall played Electra Woman. They still feature some of these shows on Boomerang now and then.

Holy cow, I didn't know David Crosby was in The Byrds. Here's the 1965 t.v. clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKVlOxtl ... ed&search=

The lyrics come straight from the Old Testament of the Bible. (kinda like TBF takes from the Bible)

The one I remember is that Beach Boys track from (now I might be wrong) Surf's Up, me thinks. Take a load off your feet or take good care of your feet....cool song that one  and I'm sure the Student Demonstration song came off the same album and while I'm thinking something about Disney Girls, all great stuff. Yep that's my Flower album.
