"The SEC continues to lead the nation in team's ranked this week with six. In this week's USA Today Coaches' Poll, LSU is second, Florida third, South Carolina 14th, Alabama 20th, Georgia 21st and Kentucky 23rd. Already this season, nine different SEC teams have been ranked in the major wire service polls."
You stake claim to the importance of rankings?
Um,
Louisville
Michigan
UCLA
Auburn......they were all ranked highly, and they are all not worthy.
Well, Deano the rankings are what decides whos playing in the BCS so they are very important. Not always credible but this is the system we have right now. Anyway, GO GATORS!!! CHOMPIN THRU THE NATION....AGAIN!!!!
Um, no, rankings are NOT what decides who plays in the BCS....
BCS rankings, which do not come out for 3 weeks, is what decides what. The rankings by AP and the Coaches are garbage. Get your shit right before you run your mouth.
Rankings is what we are talking about Deano, whether it be the AP,the USA Today, or the BCS. And your place in the AP does have a small part in the first BCS poll. My shit is straight partner, I come from the greatest sports conference in the land and we damn well know what the BCS is because the SEC normally rule it. Run my mouth??? Pot, meet kettle.....
Dude, I am trying to tell you, that most of these college fb teams that are ranked at the beginning of the uyear is complete bullshit. Tell me Michigan and Auburn deserve to be ranked, at all? They are ranked every year because of who they are. Nebraska, UCLA, and Notre Dame, same thing.
True, AP rankings play a small part in a team's BCS ranking, but it's the 6th week AP ranking that matters.
PS, greatest sports conference in the land? Hardly.
Go Google College sport championships, and come back and tell me who the Conference of Champions is. Tell me what Conference has won the most NCAA championships. I'll save you the trouble, because you probably can't Google, nor read....It's the PAC10.
thats right, i cant read....take the Tennessee vs. Cal game away, which obviously this is a down year for UT who is normally a very dominating team and Im sure others on here would agree with that and I would take my beloved SEC against the PATHETIC pac 10 any day of the week. Dont take it personally, our talent level down here is far superior to anywhere else in the nation. Heres a trivia question for you Deano-what conference has the most NC's since 1990? Since you probably cannot google Ill tell you-the SEC, Alabama in 1992, Florida in 1996, Tennessee in 1998, LSU in 2002(I think it was 02), and then again Florida in 2006. And lets not forget that UNDEFEATED Auburn team in 2004(I think 04) that went undefeated and got ass-screwed from the BCS title game and would have won that title outright that year. The pac10 has one thing going for it that the SEC doesnt-the media kisses its ass and the SEC just has to go out year in, year out and do it the hard way, we earn it. I understand you are a pac10 guy, I respect that. I am an SEC guy, deep down into my Gator heart. I have a beautiful degree framed on my wall that pledges my allegiance to that conference and my daughters will have that also, in a blue and orange frame. Maybe Florida will meet USC this season, who knows? Take it from Ohio State though, USC better hope not. Our speed and athletisicm will overwhelm pete carroll, just like it did jim tressel.
