I'll have to admit, that dude can sing, but you can obviously see that he strains to the nth degree to hit some of those notes. I think Jeremey sings the songs with more ease. He's also younger btw.

I think JH is the better choice.

Just my opinion.

They are both bad choices. If they can't find somebody who is not a tribute singer, then they have given themselves such a crappy reputation that they should just quit.

Tribute singer is a moniker. Jeremey is a singer, period. Why is does it matter what band he sings in? If the dude can sing the catalog, it's all basically moot.

I don't care. It turns the band into a bigger joke then they already are. Find somebody who can sing who does not make $'s from pretending he's Steve Perry. If they can't do that, then the band should just break up because nobody worthy of the position respects the band enough to even audition.

No sir. One band is more melo, rythmic rock. The other is a little harder. Both bands are a little older then the ones in your post.

T-Time, thanks for chiming in. I hope your information holds water. Can you tell us how you know this stuff?

And if what you say is accurate, when you say lesser named but worthy singers, can you give us an idea of the quality level we're talking about? I mean, are we talking Augeri quality or JSS/John West quality? And what do you mean by lesser named? Lesser than whom?

As do I. If Jeremey doesn't get the job I hope Arnel does. At any rate, it will seem weird having Arnel fronting Journey. Do you think the Chinese might find it weird if Will Ferrell played Bruce Lee's role in a remake of "Enter The Dragon?" :?:

Moot point, Will Ferrell isn't a martial arts master and Arnel can flat out sing.

Monker - I know Augeri didn't sing Journey songs before he joined but come on....he was hired for EXACTLY same same reasons that Jeremy or Arnel will be hired....and he sang the same songs they'll be singing. The ones made famous by Steve Perry.

And at least no-one will look at Arnel and ever say 'that's Perry in a perm', will they?

There's a saying - "You always become the thing you fight the most" - and here we have Monker of all people - sharing the same platform as the most hardened Loon, it seems.

Lesser meaning public perception or known to the music industry. Excluding west coast. As far as holding water... it's all still in preliminary stages.

I'm afraid that cred is not what I'm looking for my friend. I'm just trying to keep some positivity on here with what I'm told. Late breaking news as of this afternoon. I've been sharing with another in a "pm". Apparently some curve balls have been thrown on purpose to instigate a fishing trip for all of us regarding our new singer. New auditions didn't go well. Now looking to old auditions. Sorry. I'm trying. This isn't my forte. I'll try to stay to stay under. i really appreciate you guys.

....BINGO (was his name, oh...)

So it's one or two of those bands in this listing... And I think you said they were on the softer side? If that's the case, my money is on the new Cars.

As for singer, not glad to hear auditions didn't go well. If they're back to the original choices, god forbid they choose Arnel. Out of those choices, Jeremy is the better pick.

I still say they overlooked their best option in John West.

I have absolutely no idea what the last sentence of your above quote is supposed to mean. And for that matter the whole quote doesn't make much sense. Something about Baseball, Fishing, and earlier about a farmer's dog. But maybe confusion is the effect you were trying for. :)

Yeah, isn't it funny that the sarcasm isn't funny....because it actually could happen? :D

Why the hell would Aerosmith want Journey to open for them? What a waste of time that would be for Aerosmith....unless they cut Journey's set down to 30min...then it would make sense.

Now here you go with your negativity asshole. There are a few "insiders" that know where I'm coming from. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel with this. Just trying to help. If SF is being so polite then why don't you really let me have it. I mean I'm so out of line. Sorry. Sometimes I just "wannabe". It won't happen again.

SF, that was kind of correct. What I meant: there was some info dropped (curveball) on purpose to get everyone off the trail of what really was happening with the singer so it could play out on there terms (fishing trip). Sorry again. Just trying to help. I heard, so I was trying to tell. But what I originally posted was what I was told. I'll clarify in full later I promise.
