Reba asks Steve Perry.....

Postby Perrydise » Tue Sep 25, 2007 11:20 am

Reba McEntire confirmed on Larry King only moments ago (this evening) that in creating her Duets CD she asked Steve Perry to come and sing with her and he declined due to other things. She said he was very quick with his email response. She said the 2 she really wanted was Annie Lennox and Steve Perry.

Her CD Reba Duets debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200.

He is a class act!Anyway NBC had a new show on tonight called Chuck. At one point Chuck's cell phone rings and the ring tone is AWYWI with Steve Perry singing this Journey song.Well if Neal doesn't know this yet he will be calling NBC for his money for use of this one.

Tragic news. He continues to decline awesome opportunities. He must simply not want to sing. Other than with shitty ass Guff and obscure David Pack.

Yup. He must really not want it. If it was a concern about being accepted - I think he knows his fans want to hear him. And never mind that an album by Reba would sell well - obviously, debuting at number 1. Just too damn bad.

This should be the news that tells everyone that Perry doesn't want to sing anymore. To turn down a successful recording artist who is asking to do a duet with you is all I need to know that Perry is toast in the singing department.

And no, I don't want to hear the shit about he will do it when he wants to. That is just plain bullshit. Perry has been feeding the same bullshit to everyone for years. WAKE UP! Perry doesn't want to sing anymore.......

Maybe SP doesn't sound as good as HE thinks he should, and that's why he chooses to stay in retirement. If that's the case, you have to give him props for having enough artistic integrity to know when to quit. It would be nice to hear him even just one more time, though.

ok so his reason for declining is that he is doing other things.........it would be nice if we knew what those other things were.............

so obviously it has been several months since she asked him....so what HAS he been doing all these months????

The case is, Nik, that Perry doesn't tell his fans that he is retired from singing. He just spouts the same shit year after year saying he thinks about it all the time. I would say to him "shit or get off the pot"!

Ya know I love ya Sall, but I full on agree with Nikki here. And really, it's his life, he doesn't have to tell us shit. Why fully shut a door that he doesn't know if he may open again one day. I mean really, if a fan is literally hanging on that, then they are the one that needs to "shit or get off the pot".

his voice ain't what it used to be

Postby lidobar » Tue Sep 25, 2007 1:53 pm

he doesn't sing publicly anymore because his voice is damaged. like herbie said, he lost his talent, think karma.

one only needs to listen to Trial by Fire versus Infinity to hear the decline. he doesn't want to tarnish his image as one of the greatest rock n' roll singers of all time. at least we got 10 good years of him at his peak on record to listen to over n' over.
