Huh?......pending.....you just stated it.....what?.....it doesn't exist if he isn't announced?
Surely the excitement has gotten to you friend.

An official announcement from the band themselves Moon. We all know that they are a little slow to update with any news.

New Journey singer, South Bend coming up fast, FireFest 4 in the UK...exciting times for melodic rock!

Are you out of your mind???? This lineup won't fly with Journey fans...... you can bet the bank on that.

I've had limited interest and really no excitement for any Journey lineup since Perry left. They've been mundane, and I suspect this one will be the best vocally since Perry, but still average at best.

Sounds like he can at least sing the ballads which JSS couldn't!

Obviously you've never heard Jeff sing Winds of March or Send Her My Love, or you would know what you're talking about. If anything, I feel sorry for Arnel. He seems like a great guy with a killer voice, not unlike Jeff. A few years ago this would've been a great thing for him. Now he's stuck singing for a band who are at best a mere shadow of their former selves. How long do you think it will be before they tire of Arnel and any creative ideas he might bring with him? Sadly, I don't see him lasting too long. The poor guy is doomed before he'll even get to start...much like yourself by picking a fight with Deano. He's well liked around here, and entitled to his opinion just as you are. Even if he's not bothered by you, others will be who don't appreciate any part of your post from which I quoted you, including myself.

I'll be there in a couple of weeks. If it sucks, you're buying the first round. Uh, by the time Chalfant is done, it'll be the 10th round. You're buying that one.

The issue is that Arnel has no soul when doing Journey stuff. It requires soul to be successful and do this, and new music, justice. If there is a God in heaven, please make it Chalfant, Hugo or Jeremey but NOT ARNEL.

Jeez,

Aaron

Chalfant and Hugo can't cut it anymore and they passed on Jeremey. Dude, wait til you hear Chalfant do Journey live. It's tuned down and thin.

jrnyfan2001- 1 post? Who were you before ? Andrew will know .He always knows ! Anyway I don't care who Journey gets at this point. But I'll tell you that everyone I can tell before they spend $$$ to see Perry or Augeri or Soto will be told. I will call local radio stations to make it clear.

Good God Andrew! That is it! Neal and Jon are officially nuts! This new lineup isn't going anywhere. They had a chance, and they blew it. I see Journey swirling into oblivion.............

Yeah, me too. Actually, I see them swirling in a toilet. The one saving grace for me with Journey was JSS and the reason was "thank god, they're finally letting go of their desperate need to pretend Steve Perry is still in the band and that it's still 1983, and move on."

But they're never going to let that go, they're going to cling to the same 10 songs forever, and they're going to be their own cover band forever. I have absolutely no respect for any of the current members. And I think if Perry ever went back, I'd lose respect for him too. Thank god he's open about one thing in his life - his distance from this band.

Not for journey fans I bet even the casual fan that doesnt follow the boards and happenings like us will revolt

I disagree with Arkansas that they will continue to have a following . Like sallee said they are swirlingin the bowl for the casual fan and for the Hardcore fans like us They are finished in my book and they will never get another dollar of mine

I was on the road today and heard on a radio station that it was rumored that Journey has chosen a new singer named Arnel. Then they explained he was not an American singer, but from the Phillipines. Then they said something like Journey's American, of course, but the singer isn't. I think there is going to be alot of discussion about an American as apple pie band who needed to outsource a frontman/vocalist. After all, the only place outside the US Journey ever went in their heyday was Japan. It's not like they have been an international band. I bet they love how much money they will get to keep for themselves and not spend on their singer.

Add me to the count. I'm done with them, too. They went back to the Perry wannabe route and couldn't even hire a seasoned professional from America who is respected in the industry here. No strong frontman/showman, no charisma, nothing for the fanbase to connect to. And I'm sure Arnel will really draw in the chics, too. They've made some real ZERO decisions, but this one tops them all. Now we can all be SURE this is just about playing those same 12 songs and trying to mimic Perry's voice. The guy has a decent enough voice, but the entire package just won't work. I was so glad to see Soto fronting them and not trying to copy Perry. He also wanted to move on and write new material. That will never happen now. Journey is dead.

Journey has had a Portuguese-American singer, an Italian-American singer, a Puerto Rican singer, and now a Filipino singer. I don't see what the big deal is?

If Arnel could deliver, Herbie would have backed him. Remember, he's the one that pushed Neal into accepting Perry.

No accent on the previous 3. That's the only thing that bugs me about Arnel. If they can sort that out, then he may do well.

Probably right. With all of that said, they'll never see my ass in a seat in front of them again. Not after what they did to Jeff. Good on Jeremey for not doing it, and beware Arnel.

That's because they continue to advertise their shows on the radio and TV with songs sung by STEVE PERRY!!!!! When people hear that, they are mistakenly thinking that SP is still with the band. So they buy the ticket, go to the show, and find out, "Hey, that's not Steve Perry". And some will say, "he's not bad". Some will even like him. But I would be willing to bet a week's pay that most will not become fans with this guy. It's just too weird.

100% incorrect. Journey has had an American singer (Fleischman), an American singer (Perry), an American singer (Augeri) and perhaps now a Filipino singer.

First off, go fuck yourself.

Jeff Scott Soto is Puerto Rican and he was the best possible choice to front this now loser band. You lose dickweed.

See, you get it. They just hired a midget shorter than Neal that Frig and Fro can abuse. It's so obvious.

He has a good voice overall, but no stage presence and his pronunciation isn't right. It's just waving the white flag. Really I could care less, it just makes me cringe. I only post here because I have a lot of friends from this forum, and the trainwreck that Journey has become is hilarious.

Whoever wants to support this mess - it's your right to. I am going to ridicule it for as long as it amuses me.

He sucks and sounds like shit.......He is by far the most unqualified singer, so why wouldn't they hore him.....Like I said, State fairs are way too high now.....RFib and wing cook offfs are in Journey's futures!!!! What else do we need to talk about......
