My prediction is Jeremey will continue his 9 to 5 job and his very successful Frontiers band. Jeff will tour a bit, put on some great shows, but ultimately continue to fly under the radar as an artist. Both guys lost out way more than Journey, as they can't ride Steve Perry's coattails like the pseudo-Journey can. And that's what sucks most.

Nah, I don't think so. I don't believe Jeff nor Jeremey have lost a thing. In fact, they both have gained more respect and love from us than ever before. Jeff came away from this situation with a lot of new fans who love his music and are going back and buying his older albums. And Jeremey, what has he lost? He has a brand new special gift from God. He has a loving wife, and most importantly, Jeremey has perspective on life. He knows what holds the most value, and that my friend, is not money. Having met Jeremey once and spoken to him in length (at the last Frontiers show in Roanoke,) I could tell I was talking to a genuine person who has a good head on his shoulders. I think I figured out how you interpreted my post Moon. The "coattails" comment was solely aimed at Cain and Schon and how they refuse to move forward, but would rather live in the past. In NO way was I insinuating that Jeremey and/or Jeff would be doing the same. They want someone who will take orders, master the "dozen" and stay frozen in the 80's. If that doesn't clarify then I don't know why you made the comment you did. Please explain.

For all you who didn't believe Herbie Herbert's interview with McCarthy http://members.cox.net/mrcarty/index.html, here it is in his own words when they sacked Smitty and Valory in 1986. They probably haven't changed much as people anyway.

And it wasn't Journey. It was lame. We paraded forty of the greatest drummers in the world through their rehearsal hall, from Omar Hakim to Chad Wackerman. They embarrassed me, but they truly embarrassed themselves. They had no diplomacy or aplomb in the way they handled any of these musicians. They disrespected virtually all of them, and then took the worst drummer of the bunch. Never even said a 'Hi' or a 'Bye' or thanked or - they never would make any of those calls. And this was at the point where I was getting pretty sick of doing this my whole life for these guys. My pooper-scooper runneth over. And boy, it was really running over then.
