Someone said before that Arrival/Generations would be better off combined into one album. I agree, and I'll throw in Remember Me, just because it's better than everything on those two albums.

1. Faith in the Heartland
2. Remember Me
3. A Better Life
4. All the Things
5. Higher Place
6. The Place in Your Heart
7. Out of Harms Way
8. State of Grace
9. Livin' to Do
10. Never Too Late

Now THAT is a cohesive, kick-ass Journey album.

Much better this one. Soto killed on this song. Some of the notes he hits here are unreal.

Yep. One of the highlights of the bootlegs from the European tour. I like the song anyway, but Soto made it his own.

Higher Place, All The Way, Signs Of Life, World Gone Wild, I Got A Reason, With Your Love, Lifetime Of Dreams, Nothin' Comes Close, To Be Alive Again and Kiss Me Softly.

Good point...and I believe Herbie made a similar comment years ago. I will add that I felt that even with the added rockers after the fact, Arrival was too ballad heavy....as was it's shitty predecesor, TBF.

The above albuim listing for Arrival is ok, but I would have traded Kiss Me Softy (which I don't really dig) for Livin To Do and We Will Meet Again. In fact, LTD and WWMA are 2 of the strongest songs on Arrival. it would be a shame to not have them.

Maro wrote:Even with weaker songs than Arrival, Generations would be better album without Believe, In Self Defense and Gone Crazy, with following track list:
Faith In The Heartland, The Place In Your Heart, A Better Life, Every Generation, Butterfly (She Flies Alone), Knowing That You Love Me, Out Of The Harms Way, Better Together, Beyond The Clouds and Never Too Late.

As far as Generations is concerned, I personally feel that there were too many non augeri tracks to be able to judge it as a coessive journey release. I thought In Self Defense was a shitty song the first time around, the recent release only confirmed my original assessment. Gone Crazy is crap...if I wanted to listen to Bad ZZ top, I would have recorded their Rock Honors performance. I for one, have always considered twinketoes to have a very average voice....and for that reason, Every Generation is a very average song.

If it were up to me to improve Generations, I would have included all Augeri tracks, shitcanned In Self Defense, Gone Crazy and Every Generation. I would also have prefered to hear Augeri sing Never Too Late...and would have left A Better Life as a Deen-sung bonus/b-side track.

WOW..I actually agree with you 100% ! I really liked Red 13/State of Grace and loved the Time..it was kinda diff but a good rocker..

Nice, but add Live and Breathe,The Time..Higher Place doesn't do a whole lot for me..I don't know why everyone rants and raves about it..Also add for sure,We will meet again..I so love that song!

"Live and Breathe" is fantastic. Might have to slip it in as a bonus track, can't believe I overlooked it. :P

I honestly find "We Will Meet Again" quite underwhelming. It really doesn't appeal to me.. almost drags, actually. I'm sure it will grow on me someday, after all, even "Can Do" grew on me.

You're right. The melody is a bit too droning. Not a bad song but I can't bring myself to listen to it very often.

Well, you see I don't even count RED 13 as a release. :D I think I might have listened to it twice, trying to like it, but couldn't.

That's because you don't have Zone Alarm installed to ask if you're sure before installing "enhanced" stuff from music cd's...

Zone alarm is the bomb. We have it installed on our computers at work. Works like a charm.

I'm not using it right now but it's heads and shoulders above other personal firewalls, in my opinion.

If it's gonna be one album, I'd make it 12 or 15 songs.

I'd add "To Be Alive Again". Arguably the best song off Arrival or the entire Augeri era.
