HEY JEREMEY!!!!!

Postby ScarabGator » Sat Oct 13, 2007 9:14 am

Tinylights put this link- http://www.journeytributeband.com/elementaltunez.htm on one of the other threads here and I listened to it today. Man, it blew me and Mrs.ScarabGator away!!!! This original material is fantastic-Journey certainly made a piss poor decision. This could have been part of their next release! As you know, we are BIG fans of you and the Frontiers band and we will be coming to see you again this December in Hotlanta. You really need to add some of this original stuff to the show!!! You sound awesome. Purely and simply awesome. What else do you have floating around? I want a CD!!!!!!

Scarabgator, on the other thread you said you wished you had these on CD. I saved them and burned them to disc. I hope J doesn't care.
These are really great songs!

I love them all, especially "Rolling Away The Stone". I was glad to know the songs weren't quite finished, as the only real weakness on that track is the guitar timing is off in several places. Maybe one day it can be polished up a bit. Overall, the songs are excellent!

Damn straight... Journey didn't want him because he didn't jump at the chance like they expected, he actually thought about his family which is something that has to be mystifying to NS.

Opportunity knocking.

The tribute thing is fine as a hobby but Jeremey and other singers with talent should be doing more original music.

Clips like this are a testament to that. If you've got the talent, don't waste it on the DD.

Good post, appreciate the mp3 dawg!

Jeremey -

You've got a TON OF SUPPORT behind your voice to keep up the sustain on the held notes...that's VERY "PERRY/Journey"esque.

I like the one note you hold before the Guitar solo - You've learned from the Best at that technique: the ability to put the vibrato on the NOTE ITSELF - NOT to the 1/2 step or step above (I HATE that... :x) at the very end, you swoop it up a note....takes a lot of control and power to do that!

***** out of 5 stars :D

Thanks for the post...
OMG, those songs gave me goose-bumps.
I'm glad I know nothing about music and cannot dissect these songs....I only listen and enjoy!
Jeremey, they are awesome....you need to put one or two into your sets of the DD.

OMG! If Journey doesn't come to their senses and hire Jeremey, they are just NUTS! Amazing how much he sounds like Perry, especially on "Rolling". Put that voice with Journey music and backing vocals and bingo- MAGIC!

Holy s***! Jeremey, that is what you sound like? Damn! I'm embarrassed to say I never heard you before now. Those songs are going on my iPod, now.

You're too good for Journey.

Period.

problem is, if you don't fit into this bag or that box, nobody in radio or the record industry is interested.
Sucks. Yet they'll churn out crap like (insert any current shitty act's name here)
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

All I can say is HOLY COW, did Journey ever blow it. If they wanted the classic Journey sound, they certainly needed not look any further. What logic those two use I will never understand.

Jeremey, you are absolutely awesome. You definitely need to go on your own and produce some killer music. What a voice!

Thanks all for the positive comments, it does mean a lot!! Glad that you all are getting to hear some of these tunes for the first time. I have NO problems with anyone burning these mp3s, and I'm sure Juhani wouldn't either. I'd love to have the time to work up more tunes but right now, I definitely have my hands full. Juhani and I touched bases briefly during the Journey drama this summer, and we tried to work up another tune but then Quinn arrived and I didn't get to put the energy into it that it deserved. I have put some feelers out about working on some new original material this fall/winter with some other melodic rock folks in the business, and if all schedules allow there may be some new music that comes out of that. Time will tell...In the meantime, glad you all enjoyed the tunes!

Fantastic!!! :) Looking forward to hearing them. So...you never do gigs in Northern CA? How many seats in the usual venues you play? I've got a real intimate venue in Redwood City CA! :D Saw JSS there...

Thanks, Kim - Don't you guys already have a Journey tribute act in the Bay area? And no, you all with a warped sense of humor, I don't mean that like it sounds...I know Evolution plays up that way and does a real good job. We'd fly to CA for shows but the money would have to be very lucrative just to cover flight costs. For next year, we are looking at scaling back to 1 show every 4-6 weeks, and only in larger music halls such as House of Blues or small (1500-2000 seat) theatres/music halls.

Thanks again!

Has Evolution played in Nor Cal? Geez, I'd be the first one there if they did. Everytime I look, it's always in Boston or Jersey. Love to see you guys out here, Jeremey, if time ever permits. :D

House of blues in Southern California would definitely be doable.

You and me both. I think our local one is called "Infinity". Heard them on Greg Kihn's radio show. Not too impressed.

Hugo's Evolution is based in Long Island & mostly plays around Long Island & NYC. There is another Evolution that plays in San Francisco as well.

There is a mini-tour in the planning stages right now focusing on St Pete, Ft Myers, and Orlando. We are aiming for April right now, but when things get firmer we'll get that info out there. Shooting for either Janus or State Theater in St Pete...I'll keep everyone posted!
