Lying guitar player slams Augeri

Postby AR » Sun Oct 21, 2007 6:34 am

Who are you kidding Neal? Just come out and say it. Like that wasn't obvious.

And he has "great" words for an amazing singer who he also betrayed. Fuck this band.

This is so disgusting. I know you've all probably seen it plenty of times, but just listen to this piece of work once more.

And then you screw over Jeremey. You suck.

So sad! He comes across as a fool in that now. He DID have the real deal and a great frontman in JSS. :?

Several comments. First one that kills me is "for the rest of the Def Leppard tour." That is EXACTLY what it was. Put the fuckin kool-aid down, folks. With and without Jeff, DL wiped their asses with "Journey." Jeff brought a BUNCH more energy, but in the end they were just better karaoke than with Augeri. This is, and has been, a band built around Perry's vocals. He refuses to rejoin, keep us "in the loop" or share with us why he's such an introverted dickhead to his fans. He's missed, he seemingly knows this, and he's only willing to share with us his favorite "recipes" annually. How fuckin' gay. Short of a return to Journey, I'm about done with this cat. Having endured the ROR to TBF years, I, as we all were, was horrified that he lied to all of us with his bullshit excuse(s). I'm gonna go buy everything Neal has ever been a part of. He's at least ALWAYS willing to work and play for his fans. His tireless work should FINALLY be commended. He's made a BOATLOAD of mistakes, but he puts music first...and I respect that. Plus he's a whore on the road...another thing I dig. Dumbfuck should've never been gotten married. He grew up too fast.

Def Leppard are HORRIBLE. Techno gay pseudo metal. They want to be more like Duran Duran than hard rock and have said so. They suck so bad I want to take a dump. Hysteria is gay. Pyromania and High and Dry were great. Pour Some Sugar on Me is maybe the worst song ever to become a hit. Fortunately they closed with it so I could go leave the arena and go to the bar and forget the gayness of it all. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Nice pot belly and shitty voice Elliott. Your band lipped more than Journey on the Generations tour.

But Dan is right, they own Journey now.

They had two things Journey could only dream about. 1) The lead singer people grew up with and WANT to hear, and 2) more fans.

Ed, a classic post. I agree, Hysteria is perhaps the most studio-production, vomit-rendering album, ever. Anyone with that album in their possession should be be-headed. Garbage....complete garbage. Pyromania is a classic, up there with Escape in so far as it's relativity to the times and the musical direction it captured. If I EVER hear anyone play PSSOM I'm gonna tear their kidneys out.

I liked "Play Some Sugar on Me" when it first came out. Then it was played at every commercial break and I got sick of it.

Besides that, there are a few good tunes..."Women", "Gods of War", and "Run Riot" are great rock songs. "Love Bites" is a decent enough power ballad, as is the title track. "Pyromania" is heads and shoulders better, though. I'll agree with that.

Def Leppard were good for their first 3 albums.

After that - mostly garbage. A few songs here and there are alright. Jesus Christ - they just covered "Rock On".... Michael Damian from The Young and The Restless sang that.

Leppard needs a kick ass hard rock album to restore any regard I ever had for them. They opened the "X" tour with side one of High and Dry - that was cool. Then they played the national anthem for aging broads trying to stuff a 40" waist into a pair of 1984 jordache jeans and made me want to puke.

Also half the vocals are fake. And Joe Elliott needs to get on a treadmill.

Vivian Campbell is a piece of shit.

I think I covered it all. 8)

I do like Def Lepard well enough, but IMO Love Bites has to be one of the worst ballads of the 80s. Call me weird, but I love the simplicity of that song Hysteria. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TjPbeyHIO0

Hysteria WOULD be a great album if it was not a fraud. It's that studio genious Mutt Lange, who is coincidentally married to a midget hack, playing the Wizard. Like Shania Twain's contrived, studio-driven drivel, Hystreia amounts to nothing more than a big pile of shit in a small diaper.

David Essex did Rock On in 1973, I don't remember the Michael Damien one. I love Yeah, but Rock On is not my favorite on that album. I would love another hard rock album from them. They didn't play the National Anthem for this aging broad and I didn't wear my Jordache  Neal played the Anthem.

The vocals in CA sure didn't sound fake - so I can't really debate that. I dig Vivian Campbell and Joe Elliott.

You covered it!!

Let me be really clear about this. It's not about size. We are all getting older. It's these people not adjusting to their proportions and dressing like it's still 1983. Guys are guilty too with their mulletts and such. I need a barf bag sometimes at concerts.

I get a lot of heat for these kind of comments sometimes and just wanted to clarify.

Yes, lets get back to that interview. Schon is a piece of crap. I wish I could elaborate even further. Thatwas a public interview with Fro and he has said far worse about Augeri than that. Like he and Frig didn't beat that poor guy into the ground with endless touring.

I got caught up in the Augeri stuff after tapegate, and am sorry I participated in it. The guy had a thankless job and did it very well for most of his tenure.

Ed, those that know you realize your true thoughts about Augeri. That said, I still die when I hear, "Augeri, you lipper"....and "I believed in you." We know you did. I just wish I had too. Dude is a good motherfucker. He tours, I'm there, and collectively we'll make it a success. Unlike a past singer, he had the balls to sing those songs in whatever fuckin' key it was. Like anyone gives a shit and consciously cares about "keys." I respect the shit out of him and what he did.
