I came across this song of John Waite. It appears to be a bonustrack and it was available for download for free in January or so. My question is: how do I get this song?
It doesn't seem to be on an album and there's little to no information about this new song.
Could somebody enlighten me please?

Thank you :)

Your best bet is either BearShare or LimeWire or some other peer to peer network. Or maybe a John Waite newsgroup. I will keep an eye out for you.

I found this info on ProSoundNews.com:

Waite’s “Universal Soldier” was recorded and mixed at The Pop Machine for an iTunes-exclusive release on Rounder Records.

I'm not an iTunes fan, but guess it could be purchased from them.

Thanks NealIsGod and RipRokken.

I've read about iTunes as well and I'm no iTunes fan either. It's quite a bummer that the only way to get it officially is through iTunes :? .

Back to p2p then...

Great song, Razor. His best one since the mid-80s I reckon...

ITunes in the UK doesn't have it...and no joy so far on Limewire. Will keep looking....I need to track this down too now!

Yeah, hate that it has to be that way, but my main beef with iTunes is the proprietary technology. I got very close to buying a small iPod a few years back, but put it back on the shelf when I found you couldn't just drag/drop files to it -- had to use iTunes. I've seen way too many people who have lost their precious iTunes libraries to touch that with a 10 foot pole. Not for me, buddy! :P I'm all for paying for music, absolutely -- I still much prefer CD's. Don't know if I'll ever warm to buying digital music that I can't transfer to hard media.

That was my beef, why can't you just drag and drop...I continue to manage my music external to iTunes (ripping using EAC (Exact Audio Copy), and the LAME mp3 encoder, VBR/high quality), which works great! (I have step by step instructions if anyone wants, pulls down song / album titles too) iTunes is the key for the iPod however. There are external programs (Red Chair makes a product I believe). The thing that kills me with iTunes is that is used to (and still does I believe if a certain option is enabled) rename your mp3 files, so that they are un-recognizable from a file name standpoint. I have heard that if you disable the 'manage my music library' option, it doesn't do this, and you can retain control over the file names, etc. Just got a 160 gb (on the way in the mail), after losing my iPod nano (yeah, yeah yeah...it's too friggen small)
