Which fact would that be? The fact that you're STILL a dickhead or the fact that it was pointed out that the comments function on the Frontiers youtubes is not turned on. Or maybe the fact that the only real way to gauge which one would be better would be to put them side by side on stage and let the fans decide.

Sorry I'm not the issue here. The issue is the anemic responses/support that Jeremey received compared to the fat and happy ones that Arnel continues to receive.

Whilst I like both Arnel and Jeremey's voices I must say I have never seen anything less than glowing praise for the J-man when I have visited the Frontiers YouTube clips (same goes for Arnel).

Half a mil for how long though? I believe that was by way of some form of initial compensation, likely to be followed by a substantial annual wage. I read on this board that Steve Augeri was paid a hefty two million when he left, call it hush money if you like - but still two mil! As for earning a half mil every couple of years - great for you man. Not many people are in the same position. Many of us on here have family's and frequently make sacrifices to ensure that their children have the best possible life whether they be insignificant or potentially life changing.

Above all things, you only have one life to lead and an opportunity such as this goes a long way to making you immortal (not in the Highlander sense).

That was an operative question for me, too -- I sort of took it that he meant a signing bonus, or maybe an advance for the first year. By the way, I didn't mean to give the wrong impression about my income. I was considering the greedy government taking about half that check, leaving about a quarter of a million (what do I know, though), and by "a few years of my regular income", that didn't necessarily mean two years... haha! I was also mistakenly comparing the post-tax quarter million with my gross salary. If I actually had $250,000 in cash, I might be able to squeeze 3.5 to 4 years out of it before I had to get another check from the band or find a day job.

I agree with this... What you would LIKE to do and what you are ABLE to do are not always the same thing. No doubt it was a tough decision for Jeremey. What it comes down to - he had to do what was best for his family.

Yes, and fans don't often see the reality of it. Choices like this have to be made all the time. 3 examples...

1) Many Dio fans would love to see Vivian Campbell back in the band. Why would he do it, when he didn't get paid squat, and was treated like crap on top of it?

2) A friend of mine who fronted a popular Christian hair band was told by his label in the 90's that he had to tour their 2nd album without any tour support, or lose their record deal. He went out, never got paid, and when he returned home he'd lost his house and his family had split.

3) Another friend of mine was a player in a very popular hair band, and since then has created a very successful business that he runs himself. Band reunites this year and wants him to be a part, but he's been screwed by them before and wanted simple guarantees -- they wouldn't give them to him. So he figures it's too much of a risk and bows out, and then the fans (and some in the band) make him out to be an a$$hole.

Just reality, guys... not every decision can be made for the fans.

I've seen Jeremey perform quite a few times over the last year. First off, getting rid off Jeff was a hideous mistake. Go back and read Brian May's blog if you feel differently. If Friga was uncomfortable with a quality front man with stage presence, then Jeff should have never been named "permanent". A typical Journey organization blunder. In Orlando, FLA I saw the best Journey live show ever and as I said that at the meet and great, the Liberace wanna be chimed in "Really?" as if in shock. Wasn't talking to that prick anyway. I should have smacked him just to watch comb over girl cry.

Now, considering the mess they have created, the only real choice would be Jeremey. Hey Fyre, Arnel is gettin support from blogs over the entire 3rd world. It's all about their national pride and getting western recognition. Sorry to burst your bubble. Hoping for a Filipino flavored Journey sound? In the United States, most people are watching American Idol and eating cheesburgers. Or in your wife's case, being hired by you through the mail. Kidding, maybe, but you've been a dick today to someone I know, so fuck it. Fyre hates America.

For anyone paying attention, Jeremey sings the material they way Frig and Fro want. He has a new family though and made the right choice. And I'm sure it pained him, but after Fro got weird, you can't blame him. Once again, don't offer Jeremey the job if you aren't positive. The same mistake twice in a matter of months.

Of course Kevin Chalfant has been out there since Trial By Fire. They can't hire them either......

Nevermind that the previous lead singer of Journey was of Puerto Rican decent and no one ever cared. It's about talent and stage presence, and crowd interaction. Arnel has an ok voice but nothing else.

Fyre is a race baiter who needs to be banned. I used to think he was amusing and harmless. Now I know better. There's an agenda there. Especially after this thread coming out of nowhere in a calm few weeks after a great time in South Bend and a lot of us coming together to help some members of our community in a difficult time.
