"JACK" Arse LA Radio Station Uses Don't Stop Belie

Postby Shadowsong » Thu Nov 01, 2007 1:26 pm

That blast station that kicked out Uncle Joe & all the other Dj's
to launch there jockless radio station...
Pathetic vermin that they are
Have been using a sound clip of
Don't Stop Believin
with Steve Perry singing
to advertize there moronic defunct radio station on their TV commercials...

Are they allowed to do that?
If not have they used it wo permission of the band
or did the band give permission to this lame excuse of a radio station
to use this song of hope to promote this travesty?

The way they took over that station was no less than a hostage situation
leaving all its listeners raped & pillaged...

I escaped from the carnage & will never go back!

Interesting...we had a station up here that did the same thing - and it turned out to be just a fill-in for a few months until the station went country. Here, they didn't displace anybody, and the songs were a good selection but it was definitely all tape. I wonder if your "new" format is just a placeholder until the new one starts up....

we are in worse shape here...took our only rock station and changed it to country 2 weeks ago...
CDs for me for the rest of my life...cd sales should go up if they continue to do this to radio...
all we get now in Rap, county, hip-hop and what they call pop music...I give up.
time to throw the radio out the window....

I've been MIA with asthmatic bronchitis and pneumonia...in case anyone was wondering.!!!!!

Ugh, hope you are feeling better - rest is THE best way to deal with those diagnoses, but it won't help the lack of rock on the radio! :)

Jack FM has been on about a year here in L.A. Its playlist is a lot like the 80's channel on Sirius. Imagine having MTV on in the early 80's but listening to it instead of watching it. Take out the VJays and you have Jack FM. For awhile I wondered if Sirius had a vested interest in the station because it was so similar to their 80's station. It replaced 93.1 'The Arrow', one of two classic rock stations based in L.A. We still have KLOS here so luckily there an alternative when listening to the radio if Jack isn't your Thing.

Me too, love Uncle Joe!! But I confess much as I miss Arrow(I liked it) I listen to Jack sometimes too - they play Def Leppard and every now and then they play some Funky Music!

I just saw that commercial the other night - I thought it was funny. I didn't know anything about any ugly takeover and kicking out DJs and stuff. I just knew Arrow was suddenly gone. :?

They also play a bit of Separate Ways in one of the commercials on their station. I recently started listening to JACK in the car & although it is weird not to have human voices/djs, they do play some obscure good songs.

The way they took over was an assault & degrading insult to there listeners that I did not think was amusing.

Guess you had to be there
One minute all was fine
Then the next left you stranded on some alien planet
Listening to this insane loop of dribble
wondering if you had lost your mind.

I remember leaving work and hearing that gawd-awful Jack 'loop'... and wondered what the hell had happened. No one on air, just this ridiculous "all things related to Jack" montage they had going on.

Long live KLOS.

I was there, I just didn't realize it was a "takeover". I don't remember the loop too well. I wish we could just go back to the days of KMET or KNAC.

Jack has been on over two years. UJB was at KLOS summer of '05. I talked to him, at the KLOS booth, at Heart at the Pacific Ampitheatre. We talked about how great it was, that he has back on the air, after Arrow changed.
