If they are then I've finally lost whatever modicum of respect I may have ever had for Frig and Fro. Well, actually I had none anyway.

As Journey fans maybe its about time Frig & Fro became Forgive and Forget instead?

That's an understatement to say the least. I don't know ANYONE who would pay to see Journey with yet another new singer. They will become the laughing stock of the industry, and would be lucky to get booked at casinos.

God forbid this be directed toward anyone in these forums but the fewer bigoted, racist fans they have the better. Who needs that kind of support anyway, its boarderline soccer hooliganism. When did it stop being about the music?

If this reunion happens, we'll be flying somewhere to see the first show - and probably several others also.

Are you one of Arnel's three relatives who voted on the poll earlier that you would pay to see Journey with lead singer #4? Do you really think 80% of Journey's fans are bigoted racists because they won't pay to see Journey with Arnel singing? If so, can I get some of what you are smoking?

P.S - I won't be here to see it as i'm off to bed so you may as well save yourself getting an rsi from writing the same thing over and over and just copy/paste a witty retort from a previous response.

By your reckoning they were also a tribute band with JSS as no new music was created, save for Wings of Freedom (which was horrible). If they are merely a tribute band (which I don't believe) then given what I have seen and heard they are set to be a much better tribute band now than ever before.

Anyway, goodnight all! Have a great weekend.

I was wondering when u would show up and say something sensible.
Its all a wish and we know it, but as u and I know, its not going to happen, so sadly I will never get to hear him sing live and in living color. How sad for me but not for Mr. P. He has a wonderful life and I hope he is enjoying it.
Can we please change the subject.?

Who the hell is the new singer? any guesses, Stu.????????

Ditto. I thought Jeremey sounded much better - much more soulful and spirited. Arnel puts on a good karaoke performance at best. He wouldn't last one night on American Idol.

Good for you, personally I don't hear it. Its great that everyone has a different opinion - some people like Geddy Lee, some don't, some people dislike the timbre of Steve Perry's voice whilst others love it.

Out of respect, what's the point in getting so rilled up, it does no-one any good and the only issue it helps to raise is blood pressure. Anyhoo all this cussin' is making me tired so I really am off to la la land to dream sweet dreams of 'Steve Perry riding in to save the day'. now wouldn't that be something...

OK..in all fairness then, don't make generalized comments like that while quoting someone. You'll find people won't get their knickers in a twist as much. And for the record, Geddy Lee makes me cringe. Nuff said.

I thought I made it quite clear that it was not directed at anyone in particular via the wording and the new paragraph but to rephrase - I am sure the band won't miss the relatively few fans that fall by the wayside due to their non acceptance of Arnel for whatever reason.

I know, I know I am supposed to be in bed but its hard to switch off -its like car crash TV tonight! Definitely off now (I think)!

I respectfully disagree. He might be able to handle the odd Journey song intermixed with other band's songs, but an entire catalogue of songs, night after night? Nope. He was already cracking on the higher notes, sliding into them...

American Idol type. Looks to me that Journey wants to pay slave wages. Disagree on him but respect your opinion bro.

My sister in law is a huge Journey fan and she thought Arnel sucked. She won't pay to see that and she is of the great unwashed who was ok with Augeri and Soto. She only wanted to hear the songs. No more. AWESOME!

This is a huge mistake. I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no doubt that the guy is a great singer. I am sure that Neal and the gang wouldn't hire him if he wasn't. Where my doubt lies is in the possibility of any singer other than Steve Perry being able to sell tickets for another Journey tour. If these guys are thinking Arnel is going to bring them a fat paycheck in 2008, they are fooling themselves IMO. As far as selling albums with a new singer onboard, I don't see it happening.

If 80% of the fans constitutes a "few" then the "wayside" is going to be really full in 2008.

You need to understand that it has nothing to do with Arnel. It has to do with Journey fans not wanting to pat to see another karaoke performance. No offense meant to JSS or Augeri, but enough is enough already.

Have at it then dude. Even if Arnel was the most amazing singer on the face of the earth, I still have issues with the integrity of this band. As I said earlier, the only incarnation that would get me in a seat at one of their future concerts would be for Perry, and then, I'd be there ONLY because of him. The rest of the band mean nothing to me anymore. But then again, they never truly meant that much to me in the beginning either... it was always about the singer to me.

I have my dvds and cds. Journey is over, Party is over (for me).

Karaoke? Singing LIVE is NOT Karaoke. What SA did is fake. I am not bashing SA, as I will never bash anyone again, but Arnel is as live as you can get.
