That's an understatement to say the least. I don't know ANYONE who would pay to see Journey with yet another new singer. They will become the laughing stock of the industry, and would be lucky to get booked at casinos.

Horse sh!t, there will be plenty of people who will pay to see this new line up. Hardcore and causal fans alike.
God forbid this be directed toward anyone in these forums but the fewer bigoted, racist fans they have the better. Who needs that kind of support anyway, its boarderline soccer hooliganism. When did it stop being about the music?
There is no music left pin head......Without Perry, Augeri or Soto, Journey is a tribute band that won't even headline State Fairs.

By your reckoning they were also a tribute band with JSS as no new music was created, save for Wings of Freedom (which was horrible). If they are merely a tribute band (which I don't believe) then given what I have seen and heard they are set to be a much better tribute band now than ever before.
Anyway, goodnight all! Have a great weekend.

No, because Jeff was not in a tribute band. Jeff was an established singer with a fairly healthy resume. Hugely popular in mainstream, no, not really. Amazingly talented, yes, very definitely.
When they canned Jeff they specifically said that they wanted someone to cover the old catalog and, essentially, sound like Perry. Jeff brought a whole new dimension to the band. It's like when Roth left VH and Sammy was brought in. Sammy could sing the older stuff but, he did it in his own way. He also brought a lot of other attributes. Who knows, it may end up like that for Arnel. Good luck to him.
The reason that everybody on this forum holds Journey in contempt isn't really about Arnel, Steve Perry, Jeff, Augeri, Jeremey Hunsicker, or anyone. It certainly has nothing (in most cases) to do with Arnel's nationality, although there are a lot of jokes thrown out in that direction. It has more to do with the Journey organization making what we feel to be bad decisions based on what we as fans want. It also has to do with the way in which Journey goes about it's business and how they treat people. The lying, the back-stabbing, the insults, the immoral behavior, etc. No one deserves that shit, no matter what the price. These guys are all in their mid- to late-50's. These aren't a bunch of 20-something hairballs in a garage band living with their parents that don't know any better. The most fitting term that I have seen used on this board several times is 'douchebag'. That's about as accurate of a description as there is.
So, Journey will move on with Arnel. A telented vocalist who can most definitely sing but, from what I've seen, really doesn't seem to be a fit. Who knows, maybe it will work out. However, I certainly don't intend to be the first in line to support anything they do. Not because of Arnel. They could record the greatest album ever. I just don't intend to support the organization any longer.
