OT - Rocky Burnette - Tired of Toein' the Line

Postby StoneCold » Sat Nov 03, 2007 5:41 pm

Heard this on the radio. Thought it might've been Traveling Wilburys or Jeff Lynne.

Went online, surprised to find its a "hit" from 1980! Don't remember it but kinda catchy.

Fair warning, the video is weak. I like the song better without it.

Anyone remember it?

WOW...haven't heard that in YEARS!....1980?....I was....13!

You're right about the Traveling Wilburys or Jeff Lynne - totally in that genre.

I thought it was "towin' the line" back in the day.....DERR.... :x

PS ~ LOVE the....um...."Band Choreography". 8)

I remember the song, but would never have remembered the name Rocky Burnette! The video isn't familiar.

Used to hear Memphis radio call him a 'favored son'. This particular song was really big around here.

At first watch, I thought those were guys in drag, esp. the keyboard player.

It took another view to realize its like the Robert Palmer vids, women faking playing instruments.

Still, one of the worst vids ever made but good tune.

Just found out his dad was a rock n roll pioneer.

Did tunes such as:

Train Kept A-Rollin

You're sixteen
