Yea, they're 189-0 and running scores up on teams as far as possible.
So THAT makes the cheating justifiable.

Telling the league the Patriots were breaking the rules?
You're right. Look at how significant and critical "breaking the rules" turned out to be. The Pats performance has really fallen off since Mangina tattled...pfffft..crybabies. I love it.

Yeah, but what does that say about them? Basically, even when they play like shit they still find a way to win. But I bet you every team they're playing after their bye week will study that tape because the Colts are the only team to bring some pressure and make the Pats seem almost human ... until Brady took the reins in the 4th quarter.
I'm an Eagles fan (ugh ... horrid game yesterday, too) who happens to live in New England but I just don't see anyone except maybe Pittsburgh or the Giants presenting remotely a challenge for them. Sad to say, but they're going to slaughter the Eagles if the Dallas game last night is any indication.

If they go 4000-0 with an average margin of victory of 200 points it does not change the fact that the league caught and punished them for cheating.

Yes you are right they did - doesn't mean that they aren't the best team in the NFL - because right now they are. And sadly, many other teams cheat - Pats just got caught. But they shouldn't have cheated and it's over now.

Agreed. They're the best team in the NFL right now, but everything they've accomplished under the current coach from the Jets game this year on back is tainted.

That's a ridiculous statement. Besides that, what the hell does Dungy have to do with what may or may not be playing over the PA anyway?

Chances are, that was just the CBS broadcast cutting out. It happens all the time on that station. So it's "p***y" like if a team cheats against your team, but not when the roles are reversed? Isn't that a double standard?
Soto All The Way wrote:Oh, I guess some sound guy said, hey, let's pipe in noise? Gimme a fucking break. Dungy runs the show. From what I've read, it hasn't been determined if that noise came directly from the stadium or if it was a problem with the CBS broadcast. Pats fans are just too eager to catch another team cheating. If they did it, fine. Regardless, that doesn't mean it was Dungy's doing.

If there is a "brotherhood" that condones cheating, it's a good thing someone crossed the line.

Are you seriously the one answering this question??? A guy with Joe Paterno who coaches COLLEGE FOOTBALL as his avatar thinks scores don't get run up???? Take a look at the college scoreboard on ANY Saturday night, and tell me if you seriously believe there is some code that says you shouldn't run up the score! Let's see...Just this past weekend, Kansas beat Nebraska 76-39, Missouri beat Colorada 55-10, Tenessee beat Lousiana Laf 59-7, Clemson beat Duke 47-10, and Auburn beat Tenessee Tech 35-3, and that was just this weekend! As a guy who played football many years, I can tell you that the code you're alluding to is for Pop Warner kids or high school football! It doesn't and never has applied to the college or Pro game. In fact, college football has ALWAYS had VERY lopsided scores!
This is the NFL, folks! If you don't want a team to score against you...It's really simple...STOP THEM FROM SCORING! Why didn't the Patriots "run up the score" on the Colts? I'll tell you why...It's because the Colts didn't allow them to! When the Bears beat the Patriots in the 1986 Super Bowl 46-10, and let William "The Refrigerator" Perry rush in for a touchdown, while Walter Payton was sitting on the bench, you didn't catch any of us Patriots fans whining about anyone running the score up, because we knew it was our job to stop it from happening! You guys just need to stop whining, and just pray for someone to stop the Patriots, one of these weeks!

The Colts were missing Harrison (who is on the downside of his career), and a rookie offensive lineman! Let's not make it sound like half their team was out, because that wasn't the case! Also, the Patriots played for much of this season without Richard Seymour and Rodney Harrison! It's football...Injuries are a part of it.
The one thing I do agree with you on is that the Patriots plays HORRENDOUSLY yesterday. That said, if I'm other teams in the NFL, that would concern me, even more! The Patriots played putridly...Brady was abysmal, and yet at the end of the game, the Patriots won the game and Brady threw three more touchdowns!

College football is a different animal, though. College teams can gain and lose rankings based on how badly they beat their opponents.

That's the great thing about Belichick...He doesn't give a shit about "bad karma"! The guy coaches football, and he understands better than anyone that all of this stuff is cyclical. The Cowboys had their run...the 49'ers had their run...the Steelers had their run...and the Patriots are having their run. It ALWAYS ends for ALL teams! I can assure you when it ends for the Patriots, it won't have a damn thing to do with karma or hurt feelings. It will simply be because they don't have the best players on the field any longer! Belichick isn't in the game to shake hands, kiss babies, or make friends! He shows up every day for one reason and one reason only...TO WIN! None of the other nonsense matters to this guy, even a little!
