Slap in the face?

Postby Nunnayerbiz Ness » Sun Nov 11, 2007 6:41 am

How cool is this? I went to go see Lights, the Journey tribute band last night along with Queen Nation, JSS was there & sang a song with the Queen band but not with the Journey band...I find it quite funny he didn't hop on stage with the obvious!! Think maybe there are bad feelings? I know he did Separate Ways at the end of his solo tour but wonder if it was by choice or just that he wasn't invited up. Lights are fantastic by the way, the singer NAILED every song & was by far one of the better ones I've heard live, youtube or otherwise. Queen Nation too were amazing except the singer sounds little like Freddie, he was a great singer, dressed the part & all but didn't have the isms that make it Queen. Jeff did Spread Your Wings with them, love his rendition of that.

I wanted to be there last night so bad, but couldn't  That is my absolute favorite Queen song that Jeff sings. - I do love them all though. It kills me to read that this is the song he did and I missed it!! Oh man!!

Jeff's a cool brother. If you haven't seen his Queen concert, you need to give it a view. He's a phenom.

I've heard that rumour in a few places now, but then I see opposing reports that Paul Rogers and Queen are set to release an album of new material prior to another tour.

I hope the JSS/Queen thing does happen though. Jeff is great on that material, I mean truly, truly great on it - beyond compare in fact. Oh, and should it pan out THAT would be a slap in the face!

If you followed JSS' career before Journey, you would know that he is a very passionate Queen tribute singer.

There you have your answer. JSS is obviously not the best Steve Perry soundalike.

I agree. Jeff and Queen would be a great match. I think Jeff and Van Halen would be a great match as well. He sings VH very well also.

Put it this way... I'd pay ANY amount of money to see Queen lead by JSS. ANY amount. Van Halen is ok, but Queen.... yee gods.. that would just be amazing.

I tried to post an mp3 of Jeff singing a VH song, but it won't let anyone listen to it.

Going to try something else.

Check out JSS singing "So This Is Love" by Van Halen. Tell me he couldn't replace Roth tomorrow.

I've no doubt that Jeff can sing the shit outta VH... but if I had my druthers, I'd prefer him singing Queen any day.

Roth brings his own to VH... Queen needs Jeff's stage presence, etc.

They certainly should have brought in Jeff. I have all the respect in the world for Paul Rodgers, but Jeff's better at it.

Here's something funny I find myself wondering...
Thanks to Maria, I have playing the HELL out of the new Alter Bridge album, Blackbird.
While I absolutely LOVE Myles Kennedy's style/sound/range, I find myself wondering
what it could've sounded like if Jeff would've teamed up with Tremonti and crew a few years back...

But I agree, if Jeff were to ever fall into the Queen gig... PRICELSS!

Omg. I don't have that, but I followed that link to the page and watched just ONE of the video samples - I'M BUYING THAT! The sample vid for Somebody To Love cuts off before the climax of the song!! Arrrrgh! I was watching and waiting and then I noticed the little Quicktime bar running to the end and I went "NOOOOOO!"

Agreed. Neal says that Perry is trying to say "Remember me?", and yet Neal blew the perfect opportunity with JSS to move on and do something different than Perry stuff. With Neal hiring Arnel, it seems that he is the one trying harder than anyone else to get people to remember the Perry material.

Because the fucker knows that's where his biggest checks come from. All the sales of Greatest Hits this summer, the iTunes cash, and what is that record now... like 35-times platinum? I didn't exactly see Generations flying off the shelf this summer after that Sopranos business. Then again, I didn't exactly see if flying off the shelves when it was realeased, either.

I hear part of his last divorce decree was the agreement that he supply the ex with new breasts each leap year. Gotta pay for that somehow, don'tcha know.

I did. The clerk at our local CD/DVD outlet was pulling them off the shelves and tossing them into the $1 bin right after Sopranos went off the air.
