Buffoonery.
Depends on what you're all about, really.
Squealy, croony balladry w/ weird noises like rain, jungle sounds, and superfluous strings that scream "LOOK! STRINGS!!!"

or guitar-driven Journey rock w/ good solid vox that are part of the band.
I'll take Gens.
They knew that album was SO bad that they forced us to buy it in order to see them in concert. It didn't have a leg to stand on and they KNEW it. Ross sounding like he swallowed shards of glass, Deen and that horrifyingly redundant song Better Life, Neal singing a song that was just as shitty years prior and Augeri so protooled that they had to muddle the vocals. Yeah, and Butterfly and Believe are true Journey staples.

I would have rather been given a speeding ticket than that CD.
I disagree..I liked Generations for the most part.. They tried to do a Boston:Corporate America type album.. Take Neal's song out,Jon's,and Ross's..Put in three more songs with Augeri and it would be fine.. I miss the self titled album songs,Escape,Frontiers,TBF.SP stressed doing that..And after he left they stopped doing it..

I really liked that..Those were great songs.. Generation doesn't count.. There are a lot of good Journey songs on there despite what you haters think..Faith in the heartland..Place in your heart....I liked ,A Better Life... Believe...Out of Harms Way..Beyond the Clouds..Never too late.. The 1st 2 songs are all Journey.. They have all the sound that is Journey.. Faith in the Heartland blow Higher Place right out of the water..Never cared for that song..way over rated.. Just my opinion..
