Perry himself has said that, at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Neal was the only one of the band who was friendly and warm to him... the others were not, which had a lot to do with any decision he had to make when asked to return to the band for a reunion show.

Even if Perry said Neal was the only one who was warm to him, that doesn't mean he doesn't hold a grudge against him. Perry was being an obnoxious penis to Neal in the interview between them at the WOF, showing the bad blood that still exists. Neal was standing there with his hat in his hand, tossing out a fishing line to get Perry to come around that evening and sing a song or two at the after party concert (a concert which I attended). All Perry could do was cut him off by bringing up the 'other band' neal had started (Neal's solo projects were always an issue with Perry for some reason).

I'll bet my bottom dollar that this wasn't about "the rest of the band not being warm" to him. It's just another excuse not to get on stage with them. Saying it's their fault is just his way of shuffling responsibility for his decision from him to them, so he looks like the good guy.

PS: if ANYONE out there has a boot of the WOF after concert, PLEASE PM me. I was at the show and I'd love a keep sake. Smitty took the stage with the J-boys and the room exploded. Gotta have that in my collection, it was an amazing performance.

I'd like to see the quotes on this, too. I've seen video and audio from WOF and after the event, plus read all the band member interviews about it. I have yet to see anything from Perry saying how "warm and friendly Neal was" and that the "others were not", or him saying that is what swayed his decision on not doing a reunion show. To my knowledge, none of that was ever on video OR in print. Please back this up with links.

That's not how I was told the scenario played out. I was told Neal was 'extending the invitation' to SP to sing with them, knowing full well that he would turn it down. In turn, he could say, "see, we tried..." and make SP out to be the perverbial bad guy. I was also told NS actually joked about this. I don't remember who or when, but that's how the story was relayed to me.

It's just more evidence that everyone reads into this kind of thing whatever they want it to be. I'm a 'loon', so of course I don't want to believe anything negative about my guy. Just as NS fans want to hold their guy up in the best light. What's that saying, "there's always 3 sides to every story..."

Neal isn't my guy. I think he's a moron as a person, but a supremely talented moron and I'll always check out what he produces as an artist. Same goes for Perry who's an emotional basket case, but an extremely talented one and again, I'll always check out what he does as an artist.
