The Tone Of His Voice

Postby StoneCold » Sun Nov 18, 2007 8:13 pm

As I listen to Steve talk to the ladies meeting at the star, I can't help but think The Voice is still there.

Don't mean to start a can or can't he but the tonal quality seems pretty good. I think he can do it if he wants to do it.

Very cool of him to meet his fans there too. Good clip.

Unfortunately, it doesn't really mean that. I have no clue what the status of Steve's singing voice is, but a guy could talk in a regular speaking voice without problems, yet his voice could crack while attempting to sing anything much higher than that.

I'm personally doubting that his voice is "gone"... I mean, he did TBF, and then never toured after that. He may very well not be able to hit his highest notes anymore, and maybe his voice wouldn't even hold up for a tour. I think everyone pretty much admits the voice lost much of it's higher range on the later albums. I'm betting he could easily do an album if he wanted to.

i love that video. every time i walk down that sidewalk i have to tell whoever is with me that steve perry was here. i'm so happy chrissy got to meet sp before she past away. never really knew her just from pv. she came across as such a beautiful sweet person. always really nice & positive... even when she was sick. it's weird how people you don't even know can touch your life. }:C)

some one said sp sounds like piglet from winnie the pooh. ah! he really does! hahahaa! it's that darn wasabi!!

I taught Wyatt the importance of clearing the puck while shorthanded. He got pissed at Ohlund the other night for taking a penalty against Edmonton. Tonight we are going to watch Vancouver throttle Calgary yet again. It is getting tiresome beating those teams from Alberta. Wyatt digs Luongo.

Dean, we all know who it is. Seen him plenty of times in concert.

I don't mean his voice is strong enough to tour with J, no way, but if he wanted to cut an album, he could do it. At that time anyway, that clips 2 years out now.

I think parents who allow their kids to become goalies are child abusers. Seriously, who wants to face rubber at 90mph? It's like strippers. Strippers hate their fathers and leave home at 13. Goalies are wacked out of their skulls.

Wyatt is getting skates for Christmas. He will be on the ice by April of 2008.

PS- Ruslan Salei sucks. He is no Phanuef, Ohlund or Lidstrom that's for sure.

PPS- If Deb gets pissed, o well. Calgary has been Vancouvers' bitch for 7 straight games. They are getting real good at it too.

Hey Rip, he realized at TBF it wouldn't hold for a tour. He's done what we're talking about. Cut an album, no tour.

LOL - I try to stay away from controversy, but here goes: It seems the great majority of posters here are not teen-agers (except Strange Medicine) or even really in their twenties; we've all been following Journey for years and years.

I highly doubt that the male members of this forum are all ready for the cover of GQ. Trust me, I am not anywhere near the cover of anything, but calling the women "heifers" is really insulting. Debate the points, argue who's best, who's washed up and who won't sing again, but not everyone can look like a porn star with bouncing boobs. Real people, real bodies. I don't see why someone's weight needs to be commented on.

Okay, I'm dressed like a goalie and ready to deflect the insults. Unless it's from Deano! :D I'll let that one through! :D

Those ladies were SO lucky! And damn, I coulda been there, too but nobody knew he would appear & surprise them. Lora & Cyndy were a surprise, too. Yes, one of the ladies, the sweet & pretty Chrissy died so suddenly a few months after this meeting...she never said a bad word about anyone...so sad that she was only 35 & a mother of three little ones. I am glad she got to meet one of her favorite singing idols that day. I still think about her. :(

So true. Such double standards. Maybe some of these guys are secretly into BBWs & afraid to admit it so this is their way of denying their true desires. After all, there's more cushion for the pushin' & all that jazz :-)

Ladies, we can't call the men heifers. So we need to think of a name for them & when they post their pix, if they have even a teeny weeny beer belly, we can throw it out there. What's insulting to overweight guys?

Well, in that clip SP was a bit "rotund" as well. If you're brave you could target him. :D

I wouldn't recommend it though.
