Cain and Schon were scared of an independent lead singer

Postby AR » Thu Nov 22, 2007 1:45 pm

JSS wanted to do new material and garnered too much attention on stage.

Jeremey asked too many questions and cared about his family

Chalfant? Another veteran who can't be controlled.

So Cain and Schon scoured the 3rd world to find a statue who can hit most of the notes. Betcha he got screwed on his contract. (Truthfully I hope Arnel had a good agent)

Some of this is true, and some is supposition, but I'm betting you I'm getting warmer on this rather than colder.

Apologists, enjoy this mess.

Except they'd welcome Perry back in a flash...even though he's the last person on earth who they can control.

A. They found him by accident on YouTube. They were not scouring the 3rd world. Puhleeze!
B. He's certainly not a statue.
C. He has a manager.

A. They searched hard. Ask Jeremey
B. He's a midget smaller than Neal, probably a plus.
C. He's also not a player

If they can play hard ball with vets like Perry and Soto, what will happen to this so called manager and Arnel?

LMAO, you know what will.

No, this is all good AR. It will be good to see how this all plays out. All I see from your insight into how all the other vocalists made contact with Journey, is supposition on your part and has nothing to do with fact. Fact is that Journey is searching and I can't blame them for trying. Each of the vocalists that you mentioned, if they were honest, would tell you why they could never make Journey more than a nostalgic band . He's irreplaceable!

Perry was the bomb, but no longer an option. However Soto gave them a chance, a last chance to be a band and not a tribute.

FYI, I am right way more often than not.

Here's a scenario that you haven't brought up. Jeff struggled on the high notes (Deen got tired of filling in). Arnel is better.

Have you never heard of Neal Schlong? Yeah.. Well, he's the newest porn star with botox injections and he goes to see Alice whenever he gets the chance.

Question? Debbie does Dallas.. Is there a girl named Dallas? Or, does Debbie do all of the Dallas/Fortworth area. Does anybody have Debbie's #?

I think I agree on this one also.. There are songs that Jeff isn't going to be able to hit,and Deen probably can't sing those songs all the time..He's just not a lead singer.. Jeff is really good, but They would have to go down 2 keys for him or his voice will be shot after half the tour..I highly doubt it has anything to do with jealousy, they are professionals..Pro's that want to make alot of money and they aren't going to boot a talented guy like JSS over jealousy..One guy that posted about it here, got it right,There are good singers that can fake Steve Perry's Tenor, but they wanted a guy who was a Tenor.. Makes sense.. That way his voice will last longer..SA sang a couple keys under SP as well.. He sounded more like the frontiers,ROR era than Escape and pre Escape.. What do you guys think?

Hitting every single high note is not the point. If it was Celien Dion would be a rock star instead of a weird looking diva. There are people in karoake bars who can sing Journey songs perfectly.

You also need star power and THAT is something Perry had that was even more important that his voice. Star power is why people are paying tons of money to see David Lee Roth over the technically better singer that Sammy is.

Arnel is not only a poor choice, it's a pathetic one and so are any of YOU who accept this. Very sad. Some of you claim Journey are a hall of fame band. Well those of you who feel that way and realize how low they have sunk, have shown some self respect and abandoned these jackoffs. Congratulations.

The rest of you? Well.............. Much like the woman who lets her man cheat on him and keeps coming back for more. Show some goddamned self respect.

I agree with and disagree with parts of your post. However, time will be the ultimate factor in deciding whether or not Arnel is the right choice. As for the "cheating" analogy, I could not care less what these guys do to each other or to their families and friends. They're musicians and I love their music and their music only. Many of you obviously got too close and Jeff's dismissal became way too personal. After an immediate knee jerk reaction I've come to realize that I really don't care at all. And I must add that you would have been at Journey concerts if Jeremey were fronting the band, so your "self respect" argument doesn't really hold much water. I know it's Thanksgiving Ed, but you can't have your Pumpkin pie and eat it too. :P

That's because I consider him a friend as I do you. (And J is obviously a damn good singer) When my wife and I went and saw Frontiers in College Park, MD, Lori got sick. And you know damn well my wife doesn't get to travel much with me Dan.

Jeremey, Sabrina, Barry and the guys made sure Lori had a place to rest backstage during the show so we didn't have to leave. It's something I will never forget. So yeah, I would have went to see my friend perform. Also, considering Journey were going to make the most ridiculous move in getting rid of JSS, Jeremey was the most qualified anyway.

And I took Jeff's dismissal personally as well. That ruined a lot of Annex/MR get togethers. The Florida trip is something I will also never forget and the final show there was the BEST Journey show I have ever seen. Period.

I said that in front of dipshit Friga and he seemed shocked. I should have bitch slapped that hermaphrodite on the spot.

BTW, I have a few stories about Schon that would make you want to fucking kill him big guy. Unfortunately they will never be told as much as I want to.

Happy Thanksgiving bro.
