Boot, too.

It was a private party, not sure that will materialize. I hope it does though.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Come on, you friggin' Jagass!!! Spill the beans on the important stuff!

What kind of hair-style was he sportin'? Long? Short?
Was he in his "Red Leathers"???
Did he do his patented Wiggle???

This is great news, all kidding and playing aside.
It's great, not because he is singing again (and hopefully sounding great),
but because he ventured back out into the public eye.

If he got a warm reception, which I am sure he did, it might have been just
the right amount of a "confidence booster" he needed to get other things going.

Hope to hear more from him soon...

Believe it or not, I couldn't care less. He was happy and sounded great. That's all I need.

As I said over at the TBJF, so much for the naysayers who said we'd never hear from him again.

Augeri's voice wasn't made for the Journey catalog. He did sing it for many years, but it was just above his capability. He did a fantastic job, and I'm glad he was with Journey, but if you listen to his original stuff, you'll see he sings in a lower register, but it's really great. He's a good singer. I'm looking forward to his next venture.

Hopefully this means he's coming out of hiding and we will see something from him in the near future. Would be great to see him out there again, especially with his former employers about to set out yet again with another singer.

Oh it's true alright.

From Brooke himself: 'it's important to get the word out that Steve is BACK and in top form'!!!

This is from Steve Augeri's fan club blog on MYSpace, pretty much confirming this thread:

Steve sings LIVE again!!

Well gang....it's finally happened. Steve has made his first return to the stage post Journey. Steve sang this past Saturday night at a private benefit for the Joe Dimaggio Children's Hospital in Florida. By all accounts Steve is BACK and sounding fantastic!!!! Joining Steve was his ex-Tyketto bandmate and friend Brooke St. James on guitar.

This is fantastic news to hear that Steve has recovered from his throat ailment and is back on stage where he belongs!! Hopefully we will be hearing more from him very soon!!

I know this was a private charity event, but I wonder how they pulled this off without anyone knowing about it until after it took place.

Shame that Journey, Steve's "brothers" couldn't have just gone off of the road for a while... like they are doing now, let Steve A recover and bring him back. One stupid move after another!

I agree, but I think we all know that Neal wanted to dump him, and it just gave them [Neal] the opportunity to do it. I know it was hard on Steve's voice to do their catalog, but I think, more time off, less shows, and Steve might not have blown his voice. Regardless, I am happy to hear that he's showing "Signs of Life." Yeah, that was cheesy wasn't it. :)

From a The Bash Journey Forums poster:

"I have a friend in Florida who had the opportunity to attend a special charity event during which Steve Augeri made his first stage appearance since leaving Journey. My friend said that Steve never sounded better and that he rocked the house. He did some Journey tunes and was accompanied by Brooke St. James formerly of Tyketto. Some of you may already have heard about this, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. I'm jealous as hell, and wish I could have been there!!!!!"

FUCK MAN!!!!! We need this guy back in the mainstream.....Fuck, Journey could use him. Better than the third world singer they are thinking of signing!!!!

    e-

I hope Augeri stays as far away from Journey as possible. He's better off without them.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

It's MUCH easier for me to like Augeri on his own than with Journey. I disagree with those who say he did well singing the songs. Every time I heard him singing Perry songs, he sounded on the edge of his range and quite often croaked a note because of it.

His vocal tone in Kiss Me Softly sounds much better. He has NO BUSINESS trying to sing songs that Perry did so effortlessly.

I agree Knox. He did a great job on that song. He sounded great on the stuff he did outside of Journey. It was more his style.

This is some of the best news I have heard in a long time!! I am thrilled that Steve A. is back with his old band-mate from Tyketto, and that he is well enough to take the stage and perform.

I am so hopeful, like many others, that he will release the second Tall Stories cd, as well as some of his solo work. He has a beautiful, soulful voice and a caring and generous personality. To say that I wish this man all the best in world is an understatement!

GO STEVE!!!!!!! Your fans want to hear you sing again!!!!!
