OT: Stonehenge secrets revealed.

This kind of stuff fascinates me.

This dude is brilliant. I'll bet he's missing parts of fingers though.

I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Either way, similar laws apply. Raise the stone horizonatally as high as you want with the rocking method. Then, instead of using sand in a hole, just pile the sand on top of the ground. With opposing steadying guide brakes, rather than just the one, fall the stone on to the sand pile, and rinse it away while keeping the stone square with the opposing guides. You might have to off-center the horizontal stone once at the desired height, and you might need to shore-up the fulcrum, if not move it toward the down side of the vertical stone as you're erecting it, but still the key is the resting material (sand) that can be removed with water while supporting all the weight.

note: I am an engineer, although not a mechanical engineer. And, I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express.

Regardless, it's still amazing...whether the rocks are on top of the ground or in a hole.

I would love to travel back in time and see both stonehenge and the pyramids at Giza erected. Both are a mystery....and it seems that the particular mystery surrounding stonehenge became a little less of a mystery.
