Eh, I think it's different here. They're on the cusp of royally fucking up things in a gargantuan fassion. The prayers for Perry's return are justified in knowing full well he's the only one that's equiped to fix this band.
The other 4 are just going to fuck the legacy 10X worse than they have, with an outsourced singer with nails in his feet.

How would you feel about the prospect of Augeri returning? I know you prefer him to SP, and knowing everything you know now, would you want him to come back to Journey? Why or why not?

I don't think Augeri's a viable option. IMO, he couldn't pull it off at the rigorous pace that caused the voice flameout. I think after about 2 weeks of touring he'd be right back to June, 2006.
Perry would work for me if the band would be a functioning recording/touring unit.
Consensus seems to be that perry's return would go hand-in-hand with a farewell tour w/ no album and I don't want that. If they did it like Van Halen w/ Dave where they're saying they're full well planning on carrying on w/ albums and tours as Van Halen, well why the shit not?
The best option for a FUNCTIONING Journey that continues touring and recording is JSS.
