OT: I've Got Alot To Learn About Love

Postby texafana » Tue Nov 27, 2007 3:25 am

"The Storm - I've got alot to learn about love."

One of my all time favorite tunes. Does anyone have a video of this song, studio or live? I can't find a video reference anywhere! Thanks.

Also one of my very favorite songs of all time -- maybe even in my Top 10. I've been listening to the CD again recently!

LOL - based on the subject line I was expecting to read a post about you still being a virgin or something.

Its so funny you mentioned that song.. I remember a girl I was dating made me throw it in my cd player in my Camaro Iroc-z..She is like this song is so cool,I can't stop listening to it..Of course I'm like Ya Ya.. She put the song on and I just about crapped my pants..Seems like yesterday and that was like 15 yrs ago...I thought it was Journey.. Such a cool song..The 1st song on that disk is good too..I still listen to that disk every once in a while..

It's not the strongest disc song for song, and has about 50% filler IMO, but the best songs are great.

Agreed, the "hook" or "chorus" on this one is off the chart! Perfection if you ask me.

It is absolute songwriting perfection, and track 1 is also very good. "I've Got A Lot To Learn About Love", though, is just off the charts awesome -- everything from the lyrics, to the structure, to the melody, to the production. No wonder it was one of the most played singles of that era.

I have a hilarious story on "Show me the way"! I was talking to Josh Ramos for a few months (a couple of years ago) about him working on one of my recording projects. One time while I was talking to him, I told him I had found a cd single from the Storm in a record store that was a radio edit of "Show me the way". I asked him why they pulled all of the guitar tracks out, and he'd never even heard it himself! It's a much different version then the one release on the album! It has almost zero guitars in it. He had me send him a copy through the mail. I just thought it was so funny that he'd never even heard that version of the song!

Sorry...carry on with the conversation, I just had to throw that in! :)
The artist formerly known as Jim. :-)

Haha... Good ol' radio edits. I still remember how Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" was gutted for radio, and they added cheesier keyboards and stripped all the decent guitar out. Office chick rock... sheesh!

Oh, I just hate it, and for me, that can hurt what I think of the band itself. Stuff like that just kinda sticks in my head and I'll subconsciously associate it with them from that point forward... haha!

Yeah, when I hear that cheesy little keyboard riff.... "You know what it me-ee-eens..." (da-dA-LA-Da-da-da-da) "to walk alone on the streeeet of dreams"... I just imagine some secretary sitting at her desk waving a pencil in tune with the music, saying, "I just LOVE this part!" :P

One of my all time favorite tunes. Does anyone have a video of this song, studio or live? I can't find a video reference anywhere! Thanks.

I have a full length concert boot of The Storm. When I have some time I could upload that track on youtube.
