Nothing makes me smile more than a nice forest fire. I have no sympathy for California. Any state that can't control a fuckin' fire should fall into the ocean. When are they going to start putting gaps in these forests and running massive irrigation systems into these forests so when there is a fire they have a chance? The cost would far outweigh the damage and lives being lost with the present archaic system. Might as well just try pissing on it. :?

This is a real way to help with the environment if you want to make a difference. :D

Our council (Local government) In hull has a policy that for every baby born in the city, a tree is planted either by the parents of the baby who can collect it from the the parks & Gardens dept, or the council will plant it in a designated area they choose. Up to year or two back we also had a scheme called 'the woody appeal' this was the opposite where you could commemorate family members who had passed on by planting a tree, the tree would have a dedication on it, my dad has 6 trees in a small copse not far from where my mums home is.

This is one time when our local govt did something that could be seen as beneficial to the environment.

that's cool Lenny, people are ruining the limited resources we have like the national parks because they don't usually limit how many people can go in and out of them, and if a bear attacks they kill it. :? okay they were there first, hello.....
anyway, wish every town did what yours does!

One of the major problems are these idiot environmentalists who have made it nearly impossible to clear out the undergrowth in these forests, which is what fuels a lot of these fires and makes it more difficult to contain when they do start because this stuff catches fire much more easily than the actual trees and plants.

There is no vast majority of man-maders. It's a fictional creation of the zealots on your side like Al-"flat earther"-Gore and Robert-"you're a traitor if you don't believe in man made global warming"-Kennedy. The hysteria is all about continuing the cash flow they are making off their own paranoia. Gotta love it. These people are so virulent for their cause that it's more akin to a religion than just about any other movement other than religion itself that I can think of.

If I were standing within earshot of you while you made this statement, we would definitely have a fight to end all fights. How fucking dare you you be so fucking heartless and basically stupid to say something to this effect. You have any idea of the number of people who have died this year alone in California? People have lost their lives because of people starting fires due to a fetish; pyromania. Also, a 10 yr old boy admitted to starting a fire while playing with matches. People's houses are gone. People's lives are destroyed, and you have no sympathy? My fucking God, what is wrong with you and some others here? Just because you happen to live in an exotic farm state called Illinois, where a mountain doesn't exist, the temperature rarely breaks 80F, and your hottest commodity is a fucking cow, you need to think before you spout off. I am serious, I would love to be there now, because you and I would go toe to toe.

California is amongst the most beautiful states in these UNITED STATES, and people from inferior places like Illinois, are calling for California to "fall into the Ocean." Gee, would you tell that to nice people like Lora and Cyndy? How about Steve Perry or Jeff Scott Soto?

Jesus, I have never been so raging pissed at someone here.

Leave it to you to turn a tragedy into a political statement, no matter how fucking wrong you are.

I cannot believe some of you.

Living in the Bible Belt and/or prairie states must make you feel angry.

No effing sh!t! We've had some pretty bad forest fires here in BC/Alberta too. You can't just throw irrigation systems into some of these mountains etc. What the hell, Dan???

Kleenex is on sale at Walgreens. Pick some up. And my "inferior state" didn't let O.J. walk, hold prayer vigils for Tookie Williams, and drop all charges against the thugs that tried to kill Reginald Denny. Furthermore, we put fires out, and even take precautionary measures to stop them before they start. We don't have 20 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic, several MILLION illegal gang members running around the state, several THOUSAND felons on the run, a meth crisis, and good old human trafficking. I'll stay here thank you very much.

And I meant no harm to anyone and you know it. You took an off-hand remark and are merley posturing to drum up support for yourself as the "good guy." I could do that every time you rant, but I elect to use something you should try once in a while before you blabber off on wild boxing/fist fighting tangents....common sense. Then to pull Lora, Cyndy, Perry and Soto out as the sympathy card when you know I would never wish harm on any of them, is just plain pathetic.

Fuck you.

You DID say you wished Calif. would fall into the ocean and that you have NO sympathy. Stop trying to compare states because you will lose and I see you working...diverting attention from the words you typed. Again, fuck you. I would drill you in the fucking mouth if I heard you say that.

I didn't drag anyone into it..the fact is that Lora, CP, SP, and JSS all live here. Think before you spout off, moron.

Did you cheer loudly when thousands died in New orleans because the city was ill constructed?
Do you cheer madly when Florida gets punished with tornados?
Do you gloat when Minnesota gets flooded by river overflows in the spring?
Do you cheer when Houston gets inundated by water?
Do you see happy stars when earthquakes shake San Francisco?
Don't you love it when Heat and humidity kills people in South Carolina?
I bet you love hurricane season.
I bet you orgasm when tidal waves take out Sri Lanka.
You throw a party last week when Taiwan experienced a 6.0+ earthquake?

I am in disbelief.

Yes it is. As is global cooling when it occurs. Which it will again. Manmade global warming is far from fact. The founder of The Weather Channel says it's a hoax.

John Coleman, now meteorologist of KUSI-TV in San Diego, issued that declaration in a lengthy blog posting on www.icecap.us.

Among Coleman's points:

• The campaign to assign a degree of human responsibility for global warming was hatched by "dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives" in the "late 1990s to create an illusion of rapid global warming."

• From there, "friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going." Then, "environmental extremists, notable politicians among them, then teamed up with movie, media and other liberal, environmentalist journalists to create this wild 'scientific' scenario."

You think I wouldn't do it. You are laughing at people dying. Get a soul, get a heart. Get fucking real. Making fun of people is good, but making laughter at people losing their very lives sickens me. Yeah, I am a pussy because I am from California. I think you would be surprised if we ever meet, but I believe that to be highly unlikely now.

Dude, I am NOT all about PC, in fact, I despise it, but your comments are as callous as it gets. Get your beauty sleep, if you can. I couldn't sleep with myself if I thought the way you do regarding this BS.

By the way, you have never buried me in a debate, never.

PS- I still love ya, but right now just a bit disappointed.

Don't try to get me to talk with you republicans. I quit that waste of time last week. You are so rehearsed in talking points it's just ridiculous to even attempt a conversation. Dude, one thing that is FACT is the history of global warming, global cooling, climate change. Whatever you want to call it. I don't want politicians democrat or republican dictating what I can and cannot drive, eat, or take more of my freedoms than are necessary. The global warming scare is a vehicle to do just that. Check out the article below that has documentation of the hysteria over the past 100 years.

It was five years before the turn of the century and major media were warning of disastrous climate change. Page six of The New York Times was headlined with the serious concerns of “geologists.” Only the president at the time wasn’t Bill Clinton; it was Grover Cleveland. And the Times wasn’t warning about global warming – it was telling readers the looming dangers of a new ice age.

Not biting.

One last comment though.

How can you believe in Christ, where NOTHING has ever been proved he exists, yet you can't even look at evidence of Global Warming? Just a question.

Fire and flood are terrible, where I live was badly flooded earlier this year, my mother is still not able to go into her home, people are living in caravans or trailers, some are having to live in hotels... Our city is nestled against the hills of the Yorkshire wolds, it is riddled with underwater springs, hull also lies below sea level at various points in the city, and the Humber estuary flows alongside the city, not far away is the North Sea.. Only a few miles away from me a young man lost his life when the flood waters rose.
I can think of no worse way to die than be burnt alive or drown, I have lost two cousins to drowning I would wish no ones home, city or county, and in some of you's case State to fall into the sea, and befall that kind of watery fate. And Fire is just as bad.
Unfortunately a lot of fires are man made, people who are irresponsible and don't take too much notice of what they are doing, and as Deano points out those among us who get a kick out starting fires, that must be a real concern for people living in areas that are hot and dry, just as our concern here is the water levels.

Well to start with were the many eye witnesses who saw him risen from his tomb. But even non Christian historians acknowledge he existed. Whether he was diety or not is another matter. Same as I believe Julius Ceasar existed.

I have looked at evidence of global warming. It happens, then global cooling occurs. EVERYTIME. Did you look at the link? It shows global warming. And it shows a period of global cooling afterwards. By your line of reasoning we must have done something the past 4 warming/cooling cycles to cause it to cool. It's ridiculous Dean. I have these same discussions with my sisters, so I'm used to it.
