Damn, now you've impressed me too. Your Momma raised you properly! (But I'm only older than you by half a decade +/-) I'll admit he's aging more graceful than some others, especially when I think that he's older than my father.

P.S... that will make you go blind.

Well, he'll be 58 in February. Thank god he's older than me! :D But to be honest, he looks good for being 58, he's in shape and it does not look like he's been under the knife, either. If Neal has any more work done, his lips will meet at the back of his head!

And if he has been under the knife, he's obviously been to a better doctor than Neal. The whole idea behind having work like that is so that you CAN'T tell and you look as you naturally looked before age mugged you. Though visuals on SP are hard to come by the last year so who knows. Maybe his face fell off or something. Wow - picture that - he would be the polar opposite of Michael Jackson - all that's left would be the nose.  :D

But Neal - holy cow... I guess some of the pics are worse than others, depending on the day, maybe, but I've sen some BAD ones. Neal needs to stop or he's going end up like MJ. MJ is so messed up now, surgery on top of surgery, then more surgery to FIX the other surgeries... at this point he can't possible make himself look worse. He's hit the pinnacle of fucking one's self up.

Neal is an awesome artist, has made a ton of money, and his music has made me happy for over 25 years.
You've made it clear on all the forums how you feel about him, if I think he's a bad ass=then he is. got it?

I'm starting a Neal Schon respect thread next time I get hammered (which can't come soon enough). The guy can only ask Perry back so many times. Perry doeswn't want to/can't do it. Schon is a guitar player and a damn good one. He plays guitar, gets drunk, tours, and bangs young chicks. This man should be idolized.

Hey, I'll be the first to admit the band has fucked up a lot of things lately, esp. cutting Jeff loose. But Jeff is better off doing his own thing, which seems to be the consensus around here. I think hiring Arnel is another bad decision, but Neal still shreds.

What Neal needs to do is re-form PlanetUS now that Sammy and Michael Anthony can do whatever they want. At least put out an album. If anybody wants an MP3 of the song Vertigo, PM me. Neal, Satch and Sammy jamming their asses off. It's fucking ridiculous.

Thank you. I've launched my one-woman campaign. Perry in 2008.

Perry for what in 2008, you may ask? Doesn't matter. For anything. Anything that gets us talking about something besides the recent and current shameful acts of the pussy posse - er, um, ooops I mean Journey.
Make that a two woman campaign. I'm right there with ya girl, and I'm sure there are plenty others that are too. BTW, Love the avatar. Image

Yep, like I've said in other threads, eliminate all the bs, the boys in Journey still rock their ass off. Neal is by far one of the most tasteful lead guitar players I've ever heard. Reminds of Frampton in alot of his leads, where it seems more like a lead melody compared to a lead guitar, if that makes any sense.

Makes perfect sense. I've always said that the difference between Neal and anyone else is that Neal always had an underlying melody, even to the shredding - he'd always bring you "back" to the melody. It's hard to describe. I don't hear it with EVH, I don't hear it with Santana. I can't describe it but I know it when I hear it, and I've only heard it from Neal Schon....

As much as I hate to admit it, I agree with all the above. I HATE Neal from what I know him as a person, but he is the greatest guitar player (in my opinion) to ever strum the strings. I love his talent.

He is just like Perry's vocals. There have been people that have come close to nailing Neal's playing, but no banana.

No kidding. I have a bad habit of keeping people a certain age in my mind, and he will always be mid-40s to me. The fact that he still pretty much looks it too doesn't help.

And even with the 'assumed' procedures, Neal is aging pretty well, too.

True, but a little more time with the band and an album would have helped him more. Journey surely gave him a boost in the States, but it could have been greater if he'd had the chance to stick around for a while. The way he was treated was rock bottom...

After seeing him with Journey a couple times in '81 and then with Jeff a couple times, seeing him in a little tiny bar with JSS Band and Marco Mendoza was AMAZING!! Just wish he would make a phone call - not bashing mind you!

Sound check...

I really hope this project will see the light of day someday soon. But wasn't it rumored that Sammy was going to be doing a "carreer spaning" tour this year with Satch as his guitarist. I say, if this is the case, throw in Neal and use the tour as rehearsal time for a forthcoming Planet US CD.

I don't see Neal Schon as "rock star", but I DO see him as an "extremely talented guitar player" that unfortunately made some bad decisions, starting first with letting go of Perry. I've never been happy about that, but I have NO desire to bash him, it won't change the situation any way.

:? Let's see. Neal has been around some of the top players in rock music since the age of 16. He has himself been the guitar player for Journey, Bad English, Hardline, Soul Sirkus, and in projects involving Paul Rogers, Sammy Hagar, Jan Hammer, etc.

I think it is pretty safe to state as fact that Neal Schon is a ROCK STAR. You may not "see" him as one, but I think he has more than met any qualifications there might be for the title "Rock Star".

He may be talented, but the man has no personality.
IF he had personality well, maybe Journey might be more successful these days.

As it was noted in The Eagles interview, they (Eagles) may not love each other, but they have the ability, the maturity and personalities to get along and make a go of something that the average Joe thought was dead. They knew it was time to put away the carving knife and heal any wounds.
Let's see Schon do that.
It will never happen.
