AlmostStevePerry - John Koha

Just curious if anyone knows whatever happened to John Koha of the tribute band Escape. I googled but no recent info.

I remember watching a movie "View From The Top" and he's the one that covered DSB for it. From what I remember, it sounded pretty good.

His vocals, while partially inspired by Sam Cooke and others, were still unique and like none ever heard before in the rock genre. These vocals would eventually make the band Journey skyrocket to fame and enable Steve Perry to embark on a successful solo career.

Who was it that said Steve Perry wasn't Journey?

From what I read, Perry sang 3 songs with him on stage in 1998 at the Ford Amphitheater In Hollywood. Was that the last time Steve sang in public on stage or has there been anything more recent ( not including the acappella at the Whitesox victory celebration)?

He definitely sounds good. I hope he hasnt turned to God & quit singing too. (No offense against anyone who turns to God. I just hate if they stop singing b/c of it. There arent enough good singers these days.)

I wasn't trying to bait, Suzy, I just don't care for the guy. I know you do and that's o.k. I'm just having some fun with it. Sorry.

OK, enuff said, I won't say anything more on the subject. I was just stating my opinion finally after all the back and forth. I should have just left it alone.

I don't know if a lot of people here are interested in ur opinion that I sound like a Jehovah's witness (I'm not) but maybe so. This is a Journey forum tho. Maybe it would be fun to discuss Journey for a change.

Whether they are interested or not, I don't know. But that is what I see a forum as being, discussion and opinions and having some fun.

I guess we see it differently. In general, I dont think it's appropriate to throw out my opinions of other members here.

Hey Gunbot, thanks for this info, never heard about that.

Wow, the last public singing of Perry?! Hope someone got that on video.

Yeah, I've read on his YouTube comments that he is better than Perry. Are you sure it wasn't Arnel Pineda that skyrocketed Journey to fame?
