Drummers Singing Lead Vocals

Postby tj » Wed Nov 28, 2007 8:30 am

How many bands have drummers singing lead vocals on all or some of the songs while behind the kit? I know that Deen has sung some of the Journey songs, Don Henley of the Eagles, Kelly Keagy of Night Ranger. Who else?

The only two guys who I know of who did it regularly, and who did it well are Henley and Phil Collins.

Those two are the ones that popped into my head. Deen Castronovo also.

We do think alike on some things. :)
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Doubt many of you know of them, but they are a great band. High energy and terrific live. Fred LeBlanc is drummer and lead vocalist.

I love the fact that not only did she have one of the greatest silkiest voices in history, Karen Carpenter was also a really good drummer/percussionist.

It's hard for me to tap my foot and sing, so I can't imagine playing a whole kit and doing it.
