Then, after they lost their meal ticket, the claws came out. SP was a control freak; he was not that significant; Neal/Jon is the Lennon/McCartney of Journey; yada yada

Journey made Perry rich, Augeri rich and put a ton of dough in JSS's pocket. They owe these guys nothing. They're a business, a corporation and an entity that makes money.

Dan,it was the music and the voices that sang that made them all rich.
The management and the band owe a LOT to these singers.To Perry - for turning the music into pure gold and giving the name "Journey" timeless power.
To Augeri for keeping their asses on the road for years.To Jeff for saving their asses when the Journey machinery was ready to collapse.
This "entity",as you call it, would have been either bankrupt or dead without these singers.

All of that hullaballoo over two guys that were given an ENOURMOUS opportunity they would have otherwise NEVER had.

Considering what I've posted above,I believe it's the other way around.Those two singers gave Journey the chance to survive as a band and as a business.

What??????? He was cleaning chicken shit out of coops when he was given the opportunity of a lifetime. I'd say he was a big part of their success, but Neal Schon was going to be rich regardless. He was/is too talented. Herbie, and his ability to scout talent, is the one that should receive accolades if anyone's going to.

WHAT??? Journey had gone into debt on each of their first three albums. Infinity paid all that off. If not for Infinity, Journey was going to hang it up.

Obviously, they helped each other. But Journey would not have done what they did without Perry. Period. It's not even a question.
