I'm with you Mike. It's damned scary and in a lot of situations damned embarrassing.
The Mayans say the world goes bye bye in 2012. Looking at the current state of things, I'm starting to believe it.

I mean, nukes and religious freaks everywhere, kids can build bombs by getting plans off the internet and to top it off,
the freakin Spice Girls are coming back. If anything was a sign of impending doom, that's it.

Seriously, not sure how we're going to turn things around.

Personally (and I was too young) speaking, the 60s talk of "all you need is love" and "make love not war" are sadly missing from our world today. (And no, I don't mean the drugs dickweeds!) Just the idea of everyone getting along...

It'll never happen with humans.

I think we're screwed. If the world blows up this weekend, I just wanna say it's been good knowing you all.

And to all you Clinton bashers...

Sorry but Bush has taken us into a war that we should've never been in and the rest of the world hates our guts at this point. The dollar's in the dumper (how is THAT Clinton's fault???).
If EVER there should've been a president impeached, it's this one. Every time Cheney has a heart palpatation, I'm one step away from cracking open a bottle of champagne.

Sorry to get political. I still think "All you need is Love" and all you don't need is religious dogma. God's okay, but organizing religions and using them to start wars is BS.

You should be more afraid when we stop fighting. When the world is finally and seemingly at peace. There is someone who is going to come and tell us he can make everything all right, but it won't be alright. Not by a long shot.

Not sure I get ya there. When the world is finally and seemingly at peace, we won't need that person that says they can make everything all right because it already will be, won't it? What am I missing?
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Sorry, wasn't aimed at YOU, it was aimed at the book. (oops)

Congregation, Please turn your hymnals to the book of Dan Reed:

"It's not too late to wake up Tell the future we had enough
There is not much more to say 'cause we're all here together
It's not too late to make up Sayin' sorry is not enough
Show me some truth and I will pray

It's not too late to wake up

Prejudice in the heart is poison in the hand"

Maybe if we spent more time on what is happening NOW instead of what was written thousands of years ago, we could pull ourselves out of this mess

That's such a beautifully Christian thing for you to say. Image With all the love for thy neighbor and fellow man in this world I just can't imagine why more wars have been fought over religion in the history of the world than for any other reason(even oil).

Believing in what the Bible says doesn't mean sitting on your hands. But at the same time, there is a reason for everything whether we like it or not. Is it too late? Probably. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try and say no to what they're (repubs and demos) trying to feed us.

With all due respect there are extremists in every religion. As far as for your local clergy man diddling with your kid, look again, it's more likely Uncle Bob.

***Hint*** Book of Revelations. :D

yeah, whatever...

Hey I just clued you in on what I think SG is referring to.

Believing in what the Bible says doesn't mean sitting on your hands. But at the same time, there is a reason for everything whether we like it or not. Is it too late? Probably. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try and say no to what they're (repubs and demos) trying to feed us.

You can believe what the bible says, but one should not believe anything blindly.
In our country, with this admin, if you don't believe in what they're doing, you're labeled unpatriotic and ridiculed. BS. This was also said during the Vietnam war protests. I think they were right to do that and I think it's MORE right to protest now, but the way that our civil liberties are being hijacked, that probably makes me a terrorist.

I don't. I really don't. That is until they start trying to affect my life by lobbying to have legislation passed that tells me what I can and can't do with my life.

Keep your religion out of government and you can drink kool-aid for your religion for all I care.

Oh shutup and continue telling your loved ones they're gonna be wormfood. I don't care what you do, why do you care what others do?

That's such a beautifully Christian thing for you to say. Image With all the love for thy neighbor and fellow man in this world I just can't imagine why more wars have been fought over religion in the history of the world than for any other reason(even oil).

I know if one some clergyman tried diddling my kid who was an alterboy, I'd DEFINITELY go to war over it. Maybe that's it!

;)

With all due respect there are extremists in every religion. As far as for your local clergy man diddling with your kid, look again, it's more likely Uncle Bob.

Um, I guess that's why the Catholic Church is paying MILLIONS to lawyers to defend their clergymen... No uncle of mine would ever be a religious nut. yay.

But it's okay for democrats to bypass the legislation process, the will of their constituents and the Constitution by packing courts to legislate from the bench?????

Religion or lack thereof usually dictates moral grounds for peoples beliefs of right and wrong. Good luck in removing that.

Such generalizations. No, I don't support Bush, but I don't support the democrats either. If you think that the undoing of your personal liberties lies solely on the shoulders of the republicans, then I feel sorry for you.

No problem with keeping religion out of government, but don't tell me that I can't express my religion either just because it makes other people feel bad.

By the way, just heard that Hilary's office was taken over by a bomber. Not sure if it's true, just heard it at work.

Our current government is corrupt. Our current government doesn't care. I barely get by as it is, and yet the bulk of my hard earned goes to other people. And yes, that is a socialistic ideal. Wonder what would happen if I just stopped paying.

I agree so much waste and back door deals going on it'd make your head spin. Both parties are guilty to an extent. I don't understand why some insist on entrusting them with more control of their lives.

You really shouldn't take this stuff so seriously. However, you can express your religion anywhere you want to as long as it's not in the laws of this country.

Yeah, even though it's nowhere in our Constitution.

Read that post wrong!
Religious Right. Um, yeah. They think they are. Thanks for all the BS!
When Jerry Falwell died, that was a freakin' happy day in this country.
Hopefully Robertson's next.
