Who was the first band you ever saw in concert???

Postby G.I.Jim » Sat Dec 01, 2007 11:34 am

Just curious who the first band was, that you saw live in concert? For me, it was the summer of (I think) '87. I went on a double date and drove over an hour to go see Richard Marx. It was his first major concert, and that night was pure magic! I'll never forget seeing that colliseum packed to the brim...I'd never seen that many people in one place at one time before! LOL!!! It was pretty damn hot, sweaty and noisy but I absolutely LOVED every minute of that night!!! The funny thing was, when we were leaving, we almost ran right into Richard's limo!

Here's a video of what I experienced that night...

Alabama

My friend locked her keys in her car. A few years later I was on a date and my date and I realized that we had both gone to the same concert. He then proceded to tell me that the best part of the concert was afterwards he and a friend sat in the parking lot watching (and laughing at) these two girls try for an hour to break into their car cuz they had locked their keys in! BASTARD!

BTW, in case anyone is wondering, that date was Kirk.

Mine was Styx in '83 in Houston. Even when I was 3 I was a huge music fan so my 2nd oldest brother took me to see it. I still don't remember it.

Awesome! I saw REO with Journey and Styx a few years back. Best concert I've ever been to! I paid some bucks and got front-row center seats! I was 5 feet from the stage. I couldn't hear shit for 3 days after though! LOL!!! I never would have guessed it, but Styx OWNED that show! REO was second, and Journey came in by far last that night! Journey sucked hard that night! I've seen them 5 times, but they were seriously off that time! Great concert though!

 I refuse to answer this. It's way too embarrassing.
It was July 1989 and I was about 12 1/2. That's about all I'm saying.

I wish I had a cool answer like Journey or REO or something.

I never had a crush on any of them, but, my high school boyfriend worked in another city for the summer and he used to write out the lyrics to their songs and mail them to me about once a week. Ah, so sweet-then the bastard cheated on me-with a fat girl!! Serves him right!

Oh as a "grown up" - well I have a much cooler answer for that - The Who, and I was about 20 the first time I saw them. :D
Before that it was an unfortunate blur of boy bands.

I will never forget it! I still have the ticket stub.

It was 1981 at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood, California.

JOURNEY with Loverboy!

The show was OUTSTANDING! We were young - my parents had to drive us and my friend's parents picked us up.

What a blast!! 8)

Damn! THAT would have been a cool concert!!! Wish I could have seen that one. As a matter of fact, I'd really like to see Loverboy now that they've just released the new album! I'm a huge fan, and I've yet to see them. I have played on the same stage as them though...Does that count for anything? Was a cool place!

Growing up, I lived in north central Pennsylvania, which was nowhere near any concert venues. So I didn't really go to a major concert until I moved here to Indiana. We saw Yes on the "Open Your Eyes" tour in November '97. Great show at the Murat Theater in downtown Indianapolis. I still remember the drunk dude a row or two in front of us, yelling "Play fuckin' Starship Trooper" over and over again.
