One of my top 3 favorite albums of all time was Chicago Greatest hits 82-89! I've seen them live, and was amazed at how they all take turn singing lead (Even within the same song) Up until that point, I thought there were a couple of them that sang, but they really blew me away! The only down-side to the concert (To me), was that they played almost nothing but the older stuff! I don't care too much for the older stuff. They played "look away", but it was on acoustic guitar and I wasn't a fan at ALL of how he sang that song live! Just wish they'd have a concert and play nothing but music from the 80's on! It'll NEVER happen, but oh well...

Never saw BCR, but I did see the next two, and might have been on the same tours you saw them on. It was certainly in that time frame. Great concerts.

My first concert was on Mar. 12, 1978 Journey with Montrose and Van Halen (Van Halen's first National Tour!) Pittsburgh Pa.

I don't remember the next one...it might have been Styx with Nazareth...I will have to go look through my collection of ticket stubs.

Very cool! I've never seen Van Halen as a whole! I saw them with Gary Cherone, then I saw the Sam and Dave tour. I loved both concerts (Even though Gary caught a lot of shit!), and had an amazing time at both! The funny thing was watching DLR's black guitarist tearing up Eddie's solo's note-for-note!!! Not being racist here, but you just don't see too many black guitarists playing that kind of music! He was amazing!!!

I don't know why, but I've had tickets to see Kiss twice, and never went! I'm a HUGE fan, always have been, but for some reason never went to either show! I love the older stuff, but (and I know I'll get beat up for this) I loved the Crazy Nights era too, and would have loved to see that concert mixed with the older stuff. My first record (Yes I'm old enough to have had them!) was Kiss with Gene Simmons on the cover. At that point, I thought it was the coolest thing EVER! LOL!!! My second record was Kiss Double Platinum. HUGE fan!

i love the 80's era of kiss too.i saw the next tour after crazy nights which was hot in the shade.i saw eric carr literally on one of his very last shows before he got cancer.great concert kiss put on by playing 23 songs from all eras of the band.i actually thought the music without makeup was sometimes better than the makeup era.without the makeup the songs had to be better because they didn't have the makeup on and the popularity sort of went down so they had to work harder on songs to keep fan interest.i had tickets to a revenge show in '92 but paul canceled.great white and trixter opened.that revenge album kicked ass.literally twenty years into their career kiss was writing great stuff like domino, unholy, god gave rock and roll, etc. then in '96 they broke all kinds of attendance records by putting makeup back on.i saw the melvins open up on this tour.great show......

i had both the loverboy and get lucky albums.i got into them around '82 or '83 i was about eight years old and got heavily into music.the get lucky album is a classic.not a bad song on that album.that and billy squier don't say no kicked ass.same goes for the billy squier.that was a great one with stuff like in the dark, the stroke, lonely is the night, etc.then def leppard, quiet riot, motley crue and dokken sort of ushered in the metal around '84 or so.good era of music.

It was his first major concert, and that night was pure magic! I'll never forget seeing that colliseum packed to the brim...I'd never seen that many people in one place at one time before! LOL!!! It was pretty damn hot, sweaty and noisy but I absolutely LOVED every minute of that night!!! The funny thing was, when we were leaving, we almost ran right into Richard's limo!

Here's a video of what I experienced that night...

Tina Turner in 1986. Mister Mr. opened for her. She was awesome! I was a skinny white kid with about 10 very well to do and very drunk black ladies in the row in front of me. What a hoot!

BTW- Does Richard Marx's hair in that video count as a mullet?

Rolling Stones with Journey, George Thorogood and,Foreigner on the Tattoo You tour at RFK Stadium, Philly in 81. Journey actually got booed off the stage. Luckily I saw them later that year at the Spectrum with opening act Greg Kihn. I had to sit behind the stage with my back against the wall but it was great. When Steve would wonder back there he was actually below us a little bit but real closeup. I remember Steve asking if anyone had a joint during the intro to stone in love.He must have seen the one we were passing amongst ourselves sharing hits with total strangers. What a great time to be young!

My first was Journey/SP! It was 1979 & probably looked something like this *sigh* :)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=07JgzNpiXbg&feature=related

I wasn't a huge music fan, but when I first heard SP's voice on the Infinity album something clicked. The only thing I knew back then was his name - nothing more! But, when I heard they were in town where I was on vacation I HAD to get there to see that voice in person. I was very excited in my heart but not outwardly - I'm reserved. Too bad I wasn't obsessed then 'cuz we sat WAY up & far away in the venue. I remember thinking during the concert how I wanted to run away with the band! :) When it was over I some how knew that was it & I felt depressed. And it was. I didn't see Journey or SP again until they came back into my memory right before the Walk Of Fame. It's a sad love affair. ;)

Well, considering that before 1989,no foreign (American) rock bands were allowed to tour in Romania and no one could cross the border to go see any of them either,my live concerts experiences started in the '90s.First true rock band I saw live was The Scorpions in 1991.It was unbelievable.
Last month, after more than 15 years, they came back and the cool part was that I finally got to meet them. :D

David Bowie / 1978 (Adrian Belew on lead guitar) AWESOME concert that set the bar really high for me. It's amazing how much of that show I still remember, for as young as I was...

Yep, that is the one. I do not remember much about VH though. I went with my sister who was going on and on and on about Journey. I was young at the time so the main focus for me (because of my sister) was Journey.
