OT: My apologies

Postby 7 Wishes » Sat Dec 01, 2007 2:29 pm

I would like to apologize to everyone who has attempted to contact me via my personal email or PM in the past couple of months. I haven't been in touch because, well, I have been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The diagnosis occurred in the middle of September, and prevented me from going to South Bend to party with all of you.

Everything is going well...I have good days and some really tough days. But the good days are becoming more numerous than the bad, and my treatment is going well. Based upon my late diagnosis, my prognosis was not great, but I have responded extremely well to treatment and my physicians are increasingly optimistic. I was fortunate to have been in superb health my whole life until this diagnosis.

Thank you all for your concern. It means the world to me.

We all share a common bond here. This music we love is the commonality, but I believe it transcends just having similar tastes. People who love the music we love, regardless of their political convictions, opinions, and perspectives, are bound by something more. You know what I mean? We're blood brothers, in a manner of speaking.

Never let the music die. It truly is the window to the soul. And it makes the world a beautiful place, even when that beauty isn't apparent to the eye.

I want to thank you all for being who you are. Don't ever change. You're my second family, even if we've never met...even if we don't always see things from the same perspective.

Keep on rockin', every last one of you. I'll finally meet you all at MR Fest II. 'Drew...it's up to you, brother!

Daniel, I'm so sorry to hear you've been through such an ordeal. I'd been wondering what happened to you because you were always on Dean's and my side in the political discussions. I'm glad you're doing better and certainly glad to see you back.

Dan,
Although i dont really know you, and i lurk a lot rather than post much, i felt i'd like to reply.
In 1992 i was diagnosed with exactly the same condition as you now have. I know what you must be feeling, been there, done that, and its not pleasent at all. What i can tell you is i have made a complete recovery with the fantastic treatment that is available for this condition.

It's a long road, but the chances are you too will get through this with a positive mind and the right treatment.

All the best my friend, thinking of you.

Paul.
