That's one of the concerts at the top of my list that I wish I could've seen! Awesome light show as well as just a kick-ass album to support!!! One of the best of all time IMHO.
The artist formerly known as Jim. :-)

Was that Henry Rollins band, Lula?

Yeah he became the singer, wasn't at that time though.

I've been reading all of your concerts but was afraid to post mine....It will certainly show my age, but then again you all know how old I am--in number only---not in my mind

Don't remember the year but my girls were young and we took them with us to see--

THE BEE GEES

don't laugh or throw stones yet, after that I graduated to Lionel Ritchie in 1985 and then Air Supply in in 1989 and finally
Journey!!!

My first concert was U2 at the Tower Theater…May 14, 1983. I had never heard of them but my girlfriend at the time loved them. I was blown away by the raw energy of their performance. None of my friends knew who they were, so I made them my favorite band at that point. I think they have managed to stick around.

My first time seeing Journey was October 14, 1986. I think Glass Tiger opened. Don’t remember much of it.

My first concert, and the BEST one, was June 4th, 1983 in Philly at JFK Stadium :) Journey, The Tubes, John Mellencamp, Bryan Adams and Sammy Hagar.

I was at both of those shows (the 14th and 15th) and Glass Tiger did indeed open for them both nights.

Cheap Trick opened for Kansas on their Point of Know Return tour. 1977 (I think).

I'd heard how opening acts were just filler and usually sucked, but after hearing Cheap Trick for the first time I was floored. I thought holy crap! If the warm up band was that good, how good is Kansas going to be???

They were great that night and Kansas rocked unbeleivably! Live at Budakon came out about then and I immediately purchased it. Now my kids are playing songs from both on Guitar Hero! How great is that.

While it was my first, it remains one of the best. Journey 1980 (Departure tour) was THE best. Hands down.

No argument. It was probably their best tour next to Escape. If SP and friends could take a Departure show and do to it what they did to that Escape show to make the dvd, I'd be a very happy camper. I think I might want that even more than ROR.

I've got some pretty good Departure era videos on Youtube that I've been uploading.

Yeah, those are great. That's an awesome dvd. They really need an official dvd from that tour. But not that show - most of us have it, or at least have seen the YouTubes. I'd love them to dig up one we HAVEN'T seen!

Stray Cats at SUNY Plattsburgh...while I was in high school in the early 80's...loudest of all shows I've ever been to. Slim Jim Phantom put a serious dent in the Jack Daniels bottle he was swigging from onstage.

The Rolling Stones in 1965 at the Fort Wayne (Indiana) Memorial Coliseum. I was 14.....and one month later "SHINDIG" TV show did a tour with some of their more regular guest and Paul Revere and the Raiders opened for the "Shindogs". I think that pretty much dates me don't it????

The very first concert I saw was Show Ya in Tokyo, Japan. I happened to be visiting Japan and had a great opportunity to get a really choice seat, so I went. It was pretty cool. I just couldn't believe how friggin loud it was! Almost like going to the drags without any ear protection. But I loved watching those chicks rock with electric guitars, drums, bass' keyboards and sing. I've never seen a concert in the U.S. yet. Who knows, I may just take a trip to Vegas and see Journey with Arnel, only if I'm invited though. I was way too young at the time but I wish I could have been to a Pink Floyd concert, preferably "Dark Side Of The Moon" concert. I can only imagine that would have been quite the experience.
