Sorry bro. Her post cracked me up.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Now its just getting sad.

By the way, the Panthers just won. A local coffee shop started doing a promotion this week "If the Panthers win on Sunday, you get a free coffee & bagel on Monday." ...Cause they (and everyone else) thought Carolina would crap out on the season. Heh. Somebody's going to be giving away an ASSload of free merch tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure the Panthers "crapped out on the season", long before this week. The reality is that it's the FIRST home game they've won in two years, and they beat a dreadful San Francisco team, who has all of 3 wins. Time for John Fox to start looking for a new gig. Richardson is already writing his firing speech!

I'm pretty sure I already knew they crapped out. :P
Fact is, Charlotte needs an NFL franchise like Eli Manning needs another beer. Not a good idea. The fanbase is pretty strong here, but that's more attributed to the culture. We all know our cash cow is Nascar. Bruton Smith announced this week that his megacorp will forever be in Charlotte. The sport was born here, raised here, due to greed strayed away, and now has come whimpering back home. They're even renaming Speedway Blvd, Bruton Smith Blvd.

Point is, football is a religion in the south, but here in Carolina, Nascar is the Almighty. The Panthers are a joke, and how they ever ended up in Charlotte (remember how wonderful the Hornets did here?) is beyond me. Any given Panthers game is lucky to have more than 50% of the seats sold, much less filled. I wouldn't be surprised if those Bojangle's commercials came to reality. They're the ones where Jake Delhomme is working the drive thru and he throws shit into people's cars.

Just to correct your point...COLLEGE FOOTBALL is a religion, in the south...Pro football isn't, and never has been! The south has never been a hotbed for professional sports. Atlanta is one of the worst sports cities in America, and always has been. Ask the Braves, who could never even sell out a playoff game! Part of the problem with southern cities is that college sports were always their pro sports. They got pro sports, after everyone else already had them. Also, the south tends to have a very transient population (i.e. people relocating from colder weather cities), which doesn't foster any loyalty to sports teams. It's tough to get overly emotional and sentimental about a team that's only been around for 10 years, when you're in a part of the country that you have no real connection to.

On an entirely different topic, Bruton Smith is a jackass, and simply held the folks of the Concord area hostage, with his threats, that were NEVER going to become a reality. I personally think NASCAR is mindless, but Mr. Smith is most cognizant that Charlotte is a city, whose identity is tied to cars driving around in a circle, and he took full advantage of that! He knows full well that Charlotte is a city that has debated public transportation for years (most in Charlotte don't feel that light rail service is needed), but allocated a whopping TWENTY MILLION dollars of public money to put a basement on the NASCAR Hall of Fame!

The South sucks, period.

College football and college basketball are titans. Pro Football and NBA suck down there. The Hornets failed but how the fuck did the Carolina Hurricanes not only survive, but won the Stanley Cup?

I also find it ironic that southerners love college football, yet you know none of them dumbfucks could ever get a sniff of higher education.

Well, we look at McLorenzen every week here, so the view of AJ is skewed.

McTowelhead's sideline getup was an unprofessional disgrace, to boot.

the vikings kicked some major butt...but it was against the heartless Detriot Lions.
and the NFL is just boring with out either the PATS, PACKERS or Cowboys not playing on Sunday.
