The better concert was the night before, from which this clip was taken from.

Those cowards let Kevin Cronin do their dirty work by accident soon after.

Hi Neal, Hi Jonathan. Go fuck yourselves.

Whoa - he found out from Kevin Cronin? Get OUT!

Yeah, that had been on Dean's blog and Howie's Talisman tour diary. No fault on KC, he had no idea.

That was an INCREDIBLE weekend all around! One of the best so far. Mojitos, Jello Shooters, Karaoke... Amazing! Oh, and let's not forget the police that showed up. "The person that called said it sounded just like Journey singing..." little did she know that the real lead singer from Journey and the best Journey tribute band were the ones performing for us.

And then of course... "Oh Dan, your ride is here..."

It's such a shame it was overshadowed by the BS that followed just a few weeks later. What a bunch of tards!

No way, so the band in that clip wasn't Journey? I was under the impression that the entire Journey band was playing in someone's back yard at a private party. And that sucks about the cops showing up. Basically I think if someone would have invited the chick who called the cops over to the party, she may have been down with all the activities. 9 times out of 10, people will call the cops cause they feel left out. It's their way of using the long arm of the law to dick with the group of people that they feel purposely left them out and deprived them of fun and a good time.

Even I have to jump in here - what do you know about Journey? Not trying to be insulting, but this is like me going over to the REO board asking who the lead singer is! :?

I'm sure he felt terrible when he realized (REO fan here). I am just shocked to find out it was KC!

Once again, the Frontiers boys play the tunes WAYYYY too fast. Shame, as the vox on this is good, a slower tempo would really drive home the groove. As usual JH sounds GREAT!

Journey themselves sped up the tunes on the final tour with Perry. Go listen to the boots.

I think the tempo on this is fine, to my ears anyway.

Yah, I know. Slower tempos just sound much better. Dean plays at a much more "groove" oriented tempo than smitty did. ;)

Hey all, I'm glad so many of you liked the clip. I haven't been around in a few days.

This had been kept under wraps for a long time considering the circumstances. Glad you all appreciated seeing it!

A lot of bands play songs fast live - even the national recording artists. As a drummer, I know this problem all too well. True, the drummer is responsible for keeping the tempo. But once someone in the band rushes a little, the others are trying to play catch up, and if the drummer lets them accelerate without applying he brakes, the whole band speeds up. It's almost like the drummer has to ride the brakes or continually downshift like a semi driving down a steep hill through the whole gig sometimes. If he doesn't, many times the momentum of the entire band will push the band into a faster tempo.

Also sometimes bands speed things up in a live setting on purpose. Kiss were guilty of this in the mid 80's, ditto Journey, and many others. Ask the Lonely was almost unlistenable it was so fast on the Frontiers tour.

The tempo on this track is perfectly fine to me. I replay this vid constantly.

Compare Anyway You Want It studio version to ANY of the live versions out there. The live version is ALWAYS sped up a notch.
