Truthfully, I am interested to hear what it will sound like but I would just as soon download it from somewhere online.

If they're doing some exclusive deal with WM, then they've probably got guaranteed cash up front...plus residuals on whatever sales. They may have even been paid for their studio time. My gut is that this album will sell. May not fly off the racks like the new Eagles record, but Journey will sell.

it is clearly a last ditch effort.if this 'sure fire' solution fails then i doubt they'll ever release new music again because if people don't buy this with well known songs they most definitely aren't going to buy a new release with some new guy at the helm.wouldn't it be something though if the damn thing ended up hitting the top ten.don't stop believen will probably be the first single.

This is the first Journey album since I became a fan in 1981 that I will NOT be rushing to the store to buy. How disappointing.

would you buy something that sounds like Perry?
This cd is a waste of money unless you are an existing fan of Arnel.

1) Shut up
2) I posted last night that my interest in it is driven by the new takes of first, Schon, second, Castro"Bro"o and 3 Cain. Bass is bass and the vox...eh...I'll just listen to 'em.

No way. Inevitably it will show up for download somewhere - I suspect fans will be PMing megaupload links around or something, (but that means at least one person would be biting the bullet and buying it - LOL!!) so if I'm curious enough, I'd grab the link and maybe see what the deal is (and no doubt skip every track after 10 seconds of "what the HELL?!"). But no. Not paying for that. Not a chance.

they need a sticker on the CD specifically stating perry is not singing on the release.in fact i would not be shocked if perry himself let it be known he wanted it that way so the public isn't fooled.....

Bah. No more or less hateful than always.
I don't care if you use my name on the boards you repitllian escapee, but I heeded your request of months ago to "fuck off!" and now you question me again so I answered.
If I don't want to tow the mob opionion of trashing Journey, then so be it.

Hell's your name, again? Damned if I even remember.

I don't trash Journey either, not buying the latest cd that has the SAME songs on it is not trashing Journey.
They are trying to fool people, that is dishonest.

No.

But I would have if they had done that with JSS...all about the voice, & I wanted to hear them done by him. I love his version of SHML.

But his voice is the only one I'd want to hear them redone to. Doesn't mean I don't love the songs just the way they are any less than anyone else though 8)

I wouldn't have bought the CD with JSS's voice, it just doesn't have that Journey texture to it. Now, if JSS did a heavy rock cd cover of Journey's tunes, I'd be all over that one. ;) As it is, if they do release the classics re-done, there's been plenty of progress over the years with better production, etc, so I'd like to see what the drums, guitars, keys would sound like. I'd preview before buying and then buy if I like it. Wouldn't surprise me if it comes out with a few originals mixed in with the hits. ;)

Not interested. If they record something new, I will give it a listen, but they won't get another dime from me.
