OT Rolling Stone... eek.

I picked up the new Rolling Stone today.
Just when I was recovering from the big close up cover of Keith Richards not so long ago, they went and did this...

No real point. I just find it fun to compare and contrast. But wow!
Someone around here recently commented that Plant looked like the King from Lord of the Rings.
Now I think of that every time I see him.

Anyone else think Jimmy Page is starting to resemble...

We could always discuss the article, if pushed to boredom...

Jimmy Page has a very young looking face and could probably get away with dying his hair back to its original colour. I bet he wouldn't look that far removed from his glory days instead of Clinton in a wig!

I couldn't have been any happier with a RS cover than when I saw this one in my mailbox the other day.

The guys look great, IMO. Can't wait to see 'em here in San Diego next year. Any doubters that we WILL indeed see a tour, be prepared to wolf down the crow.

I hope Plant has been vocal training. Some of those high notes just sound painful in recent years when I've seen him perform.

YES That's it!! Thank you Elaine. I saw a pic of him a while back and knew he looked liked someone but couldn't put a name to it. It's Theodin. Image

I've seen every single Southern California concert performance by Plant since 1988. ALL of them, solo and with Page.

In all of those shows, I haven't heard even one note I'd feel compelled to term "painful."

The man's well aware of his limitations, and he works around them like the consummate pro that he is.

Seeing him perform with Page, Jones, and Bonzo's boy is gonna be a thrill.

Agreed. While Plant certainly doesn't sound the same as he did when Zeppelin was in their hey-day, he still delivers. People need to realize that some of those Zep tunes were recorded NEARLY 40 YEARS AGO!!!
He's not gonna sound the same in his 60's as he did in his early 20's, but even so, he's still a great singer and performer.
