Trading tapes MADE that band. If kids didn't trade their tapes way back when,
there'd be no band. Lars would be working at 7-11. What an annoying f'wad that guy is.
(they suck anyway. Can't stand em).

Lars should still be working at 7-11. Dude can barely play the drums well enough for that band.

Yeah, and now they have a "confession" and proof so that they can prosecute you (because they wouldn't dream of going after anybody actually making money on pirating - too risky - it's easier to hose the everyday citizen who has no money to buy the music in the first place!) and they have your personal information. I wonder what they're buying for that $5 per person? a third home?

Thank you!!!

Now that I think about it I haven't downloaded any music in quite a while... I'm starting to feel the withdrawal. :P
I do actually enjoy having hard copies of my music and even more so the pictures, lyrics, notes and other stuff that comes with a cd so most of the time I end up buying the album anyway.
Just doing my part to help support starving superstars.

Here Paul, now you'll finally be able to live comfortably because Sara in California bought a Beatles album.

If you like the artist and appreciate pay for his stuff, if they're a joke dont download it .

Fair enough.

Or perhaps maybe an apology is due from the INDUSTRY to the consumer, for charging us 18-25 dollars for something that costs about a buck to manufacture, and for absolutely REFUSING to try to create a model that kept up with consumer wants and needs until it was far too late...

..and I don't have a shred of pity for the artists either. Everyone knows none of them REALLY make any dough off record sales anymore. This is why we have to pay $200 bucks for a decent seat at a concert these days.

I've never illegally downloaded one song. Virtually my entire family is in the music industry, as are a majority of my friends, and I simply don't support it...except as in Liam's case, when the downloader has purchased the material previously in a different (cassette, record, or 8-track :D) format, or if it is out of print and cannot be purchased from the record company, retailer, or artist anymore.

You know, I've heard that quite a few times, mainly from drummers. But others think he kicks tail. I believe I even read from some Metalica bio that he wasn't that great a player (at least in the beginning), and they only let him join the band because he had so many connections. But dang, he sure developed a mouth, as worse or greater than Kevin Dubrow in the early years (God rest his soul). But Lars hasn't learned out to shut up yet.

I'm not a drummer... what is so bad about his playing? I've never heard specifics.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Out of curiosity, I checked the site out. They actually show pictures of some of the actual letters. I guess not everyone feels like apologizing... Check out this letter to Axhole Rose!

Dear Axl,
There are a lot of musicians I could have sent this money to; people lke Bob Mould or Henry Rollins or Robert Plant, whose music graced the mix tapes of my youth. But I figured out of all of them, you could probably use the money the most. Some day you will realize two things:

1) Slash was the heart of GnR
2) We all know that Chinese Democracy is nothing more than smoke and mirrors.

When that happens, take this five bucks and buy a bottle of Night Train to see you through.

Yours Truly,
michele c.

P.S. I am giving it to you in change because that’s how bum wine should be bought.

:P :P :P I KNEW IT!!! No fan should be stupid enough to apologize to Axl!

Thank you. I just couldn't justify buying an entire album again for maybe a couple of songs. Now, if it was something like Frontiers...sure I'd buy it again. But let's just say it was something like Paradise Lost's album...I only wanted one song off that album (CD in this case) and the cd got wrecked and I didn't want to re-buy the damn thing for one song...so I d/led it off of Napster a LOOOONG time ago. That's just one example...but there are a lot of albums out there like that that I did that with. I've always paid for copyrighted music.
