And yes the pic and interception did them in. No doubt.

Also obvious that the NFL does not want the Pats to lose.

3 FUCKIN' POINTS. The Ravens almost had it. DAMNIT.

That last Pats "touchdown" shouldn't have counted. He had no control going out of bounds. Total bullshit.

Got this off of cbssportsline.com...pretty funny:

"Would the Ravens like a slice of cheese with their whine? Perhaps a side of cries to go with their wahmburger? Somebody better call 9-wah-wah and get the Ravens a wahhhmbulance, because they're going to drown themselves in their tears pretty soon if they aren't careful.

Patriots won, Tom Brady is the MVP of the league, get over it."

That was a heartbreaker. Hard to fall asleep after watching the Ravens win the game, only to have it stolen from them.

Congrats on your perfect season, Pats. If you didn't lose last night, you ain't losing.

What a bunch of fucking WHINE BAGS! Listen...The Ravens played their asses off last night, and I have MUCH respect for their performance. They're simply not a very good team, and Kyle Boller is probably the worst QB I've seen in my life. That said, these guys (The Ravens)came to play last night.

As for the phantom catch...I watched the thing 10 times on replay, and I'm not quite sure how it wasn't a catch. The reality is that he caught the ball with his fingertips, so there wasn't any question about control or no control. Also, let us not forget that the pass to Gaffney for the TD was FIRST down! That means Brady had three more shots, had it not been called a TD!

As for all the venom directed toward the Patriots...Keep bringing it! As I've said in the past, I never thought I'd get to a point in my life where EVERYONE hated the Patriots. I can tell you that when they were consistently winning one and two games a season, nobody gave a shit, one way or another. Teams are only ever hated when they're successful! Nobody hates the Detroit Lions, because they've sucked, forever!

I've never hated a team because of their success. It's their blowhard fans that makes me want them to lose. Outside of those same said fans, I have nothing at all against the team. If their fans weren't so nasty about it, maybe they could have been labeled America's Team. As it stands right now, there is a lot of venom toward that team, and the Patriots fans have nobody to blame but themselves. With the exception of JrnyScarab, he's been very cool.

Uh, yes.

Never seen a fanbase handle success with less class than Boston and I include NY in that.

You may not have personally ever hated a team for their success. That said, if you watch sports, you know the drill. Teams with a lot of success ALWAYS have as many people who hate them as fans who root for them. The Cowboys, Yankees, and Patriots all come to mind. As far as Patriots fans for only having themselves to "blame", as you put it...I'm not sure I really get your point. I certainly can't speak for Patriot's fans everywhere, but I'm pretty sure most of us could care less how many people hate our team. The amount of people who like or despise a team has ZERO impact on wins and losses!

I honestly really wouldn't expect that many people, outside of the New England area, to be huge Patriots fans. Just like there aren't a whole lot of Ravens fans outside of Baltimore. As I said in my previous post...I actually LOVE everyone despising the Patriots! It's actually quite amusing to me. It's just all the whining I can't stand. I never whined when my teams sucked, and I certainly don't apologize because Boston has a couple of decent teams, who win a few games, at this particualr point in time. When the Celtics won three championships back in the 80's, to give their franchise 16 titles, I constantly heard people saying negative things about the Celtics and how much they hated them. Interestingly enough, after two of their players died (Len Bias, and Reggie Lewis). and they became a DREADFUL franchise, nobody outside of Boston had anything negative to say about them any longer. Why is this??? Because they were irrelevant and not winning any longer! The only people who are ever critical of teams who constantly lose, year after year, are their own fans!

NFL Live (on ESPN) showed several plays from last night's game that were clearly penalties that should have been called against Baltimore that simply weren't called. The officiating wasn't great, on either side of the ball last night. That said, Baltimore is the second most penalized team in the entire NFL, so the fact that they had 13 penalties called on them wasn't exactly earth-shattering news! Bring on the Pittsburgh fans. This may finally be the week for the Patriots to lose one, and if it is, it's all okay. I'd much rather lose now, than in the playoffs!

Give me a break. Philadelphia fans and New York fans are a thousand times worse than Boston fans. The Patriots were ROBBED by the officials in the AFC Championship last year - a 3rd down pass interference call against Hobbs when AT NO POINT DURING THE ENTIRE PLAY DID HE MAKE ANY CONTACT WHATSOEVER with Reggie Wayne, and then the 3rd down play from the 25 where Brown got MAULED by a Colts' DB WAY before the pass got to him and NO CALL WAS MADE. The former cost the team 4 points (as Indianapolis would have been forced to kick a field goal), and the latter cost them 7 points (instead of first down at the one, they lost 10 on a holding call the next play and had to punt). Those 11 points would have given the Patriots the game, and put them in the Super Bowl against Chicago, whom they would have trounced.

Are you forgetting that on that last play, the 52-yard heave, that Mason literally grabbed Harrison and threw him to the ground before the ball reached Clayton? Where was the outrage then? The defensive holding call was correct - the foul was blatantly obvious. As for the timeout - well, shit happens. If anything, the Patriots have been victimized by outrageous officiating (since the Raider game) that has almost always gone against them.

Sorry if your teams are awful and can't achieve any success. When I lived in the U.K., my hometown team (Liverpool) won the FA Championship and League Cup all the time, and all we ever heard was how terrible the fans were and how fortunate they always were. Success breeds contempt. When I moved to the States and went to university in 1988, we went to Patriots games when Rod Rust was the coach and they went 1-15 every year. We waited a long time for this success, and no, we're not gloating. That behaviour is left to New York fans, who have nothing to gloat about since their teams are mostly awful.

Ahhhhhh...Good old Rod Rust! Those were the days! I'm glad someone else remembers just how horrendous the Patriots were back then. I can tell you that in the early 80's, it was just as bad in Foxboro! Although I agree with your statements on the Colts championship game last season, I refuse to whine about it! The reality is that the Patriots simply didn't hold on in that game, and should have NEVER let the Colts back in the game! The Colts were finished in that game, and I give them all the credit in the world for bouncing back.

I just can't believe all the whining about the Patriots. I've never seen so many NFL players make themselves look like complete pussies! They should spend more time on the practice field and in the weight room, trying to better themselves, and their teams, and less time crying about officials who somehow put the screws to them! Unfortunately in sports, a lot of teams blame officials for their shortcomings, instead of looking in the mirror!

Just so we can satisfy some of the crybaby fans...On behalf of the great sports fans in the city of Boston, I apologize to every football fan in America for the fact that the Patriots are 12-0. It's just not fair, and shouldn't be allowed. I agree with the football fans, all across America, that the Patriots should try much harder to lose! They've tried like hell, the past two weeks, but that's just not good enough. We will do our best to lose to the Steelers this weekend. If that doesn't come to fruition, perhaps we'll roll over and let the Jets or Dolphins beat us. If neither of those scenarios become a reality, there are always the New York Football Giants, in the final game of the season! I promise you that we'll keep trying to lose, so we can all hold hands and sing "We Are The World"!

I don't have any problem with the Patriots being 12 - 0, they've earned it. What I have a problem with is, and I'll say it more accurately this time, some of their fans Image running their heads. It's the over-trumping of your own, and the trashing of other teams.

I'm talking about as far as handling success with good natured humility instead of the incessant In Your Face middle fingers Boston fans seem to always have to take.

As far as the Pats being pickpocketed in the AFC title game, well, check with our own RaiderFan and see if he tucked I mean shed a tear.

The only problem with using the whole "tuck rule" argument is that it's simply not valid. The tuck rule is what it is. If someone wants to argue that the NFL should change that rule...that's an entirely different issue. It doesn't change the fact that the referees in the Raiders game got the call correct, based on what the rule is (and there wasn't a single NFL expert who said they got the call wrong, at the time). Also, that same call has been called NUMEROUS times, since that game, as the rule still exists!

Thanks man. I try not to browbeat anyone even though I know my Patriots rock! Look, you can't have long streaks like this without SOME sort of luck along with the plays. Just doesn't happen often. By the way, I enjoy reading all the sports posts but after awhile it just tends to give me a headache. Everyone's always looking for some kind of excuse.

Ravens played a great game, but at the end of the day they had chances to put the Pats away and fired up an interception and after smashing us in the mouth for 2 scores they couldn't run for another. If we couldn't stop them after the second rushing touchdown I knew we were doomed. Somehow, we managed to force a couple of 3 and outs on the Ravens in the 4th Qtr. It should never have come down to penalties and close plays. Ravens had this one sewn up but just couldn't finish us. Not for lack of effort though. Ravens defense is very tough! Their lack of offense late in the 4th Qtr is what cost them the game in my opinion.

Yeah his arm was going forward. It went forward enough so he could put his left hand on it. I've watched Brady since his days with the Wolverines here and I've yet to see him through a 2 handed pass. That's why Brady and the rest of the Pats offense trudged through the snow to their sideline with their heads down. We beat them! That was my first thought when they won the SB. We beat them!
Thanks alot Walt Coleman.

BTW, re the "cheating": you are legally allowed to get EXACTLY the same footage from the box, 75 feet behind where the Patriots employee was caught. NOTHING they were getting was something they couldn't legally get from a different (albeit farther away) camera angle. I have also heard that the Patriots' footage included indisputable proof that a Mangini goon Jets employee was filming the Patriots sideline "illegally" from exactly the same angle.
