I think after the public generally shows their disdain towards the new vocalist, I think if Perry were to offer a comeback they'll take it in a heartbeat and kick Arnel to the curb.

They had no trouble doing it to Soto, so why would they have an issue now?

The thing that I don't get is the fact that Jeff brought back a LOT of "Perry ONLY" fans (and I'm not just talking about on the boards) and even they got highly interested in Journey again and then they trashed him when he and Perry were the best frontmen they've ever had???

OH WAIT...NOW I get it....THEY'RE FUCKING STUPID.

I didn't care much for Augeri, minus a few tracks from Generations and Arrival. But as soon as Soto took the job I had very high hopes for the band to go in a new direction. That's what the purpose of a new vocalist is. Soto was going to take them somewhere, and interest was being generated again. Surprisingly enough, it's the most interest they'd ever had since '96, and probably will have unless they reform with Perry himself.

You're right, they are fucking stupid. He was the man for the job and they clearly lost plenty of fans with this one. I know I was psyched to see Journey with Soto, and now after Arnel was given the job, I could care less. I will not be attending the show.

Absolutely. The whole thing just blows. I would have bought a new album with JSS and been at the shows in a NANOSECOND. Honestly, I do not particularly care whether he can hit "those certain notes" ... I don't care that they had Deen singing Open Arms instead of JSS. That was NOT what I was looking for. I wanted to be entertained, I wanted a guy who could sing well, and who could rock. JSS did all those things and he rocks in his own way, not in Perry's way. And when they took him on, I thought "Finally they're dropping the fucking Perry thing."

Pffffffft. [/i]

FYI: Neal was standing right in front of me soaking up all the adulation when I snapped that photo.
I got quite a chuckle out of that one myself....
